To think that just last week, the PopCom just gave the recent population figures, kagulat. There are so many of us here but very few food supplies. Why? No more open fields/farms, just subdivisions and malls in what used to be farmlands.

Kakalungkot. Kakagigil. Grrrr...

Thanks, Monaco, my apologies, haven't been able to bloghop these days, very busy, zzz. I hope you can come back again to this other home. Btw, you might want to check out some contests for bloggers here ->

The rice shortage is alarming. Experts have been warning us about his for years: global warming will cause changing weather patterns which will yield low harvests+population explosion = food shortage.

Rachel, I have yet to see the lines by people buying the NFA rice. In the supermarkets, there is no hype about the buying of rice. Maybe because the people who go there have money to spend so they are not panicking. I'm not sure.

I just hope there would be a solution to this, a long-term one, so we wouldn't end up like in Haiti.

Sigh.

Hi Julie. I bought a sack of rice at the supermarket that day you texted me. I was surprised how much rice has escalated over the past few weeks.
