This is a sculpture of National Artist Napoleon Abueva called Tres Marias or the Three Women Weaving the Filipino Flag which can be seen at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. The flag was used during the June 12, 1898 declaration of Philippine Independence against the 300 years of Spanish rule in the country.

What a beautiful tribute to the women in the pages of our history book, Julie. Thanks for sharing. How come I didn’t see this when I visited Diliman last summer? Sayang.

Tita Princess, this can be found near the lagoon, almost fronting the UP Theater. Nasa gawing loob pa, more like the back of admin building.
