Bidding

My friend Wenchie asked me two weeks ago about how a certain sponsored post writing goes. This paid posting site has it differently than other sites. Why? Because bloggers can bid the price that they want to be paid for writing posts. They get 65% of the price they would bid with.

Here are the simple steps in going about this sponsored post services:

  1. Register your blog.
  2. Wait for your bog to be approved.
  3. When your blog is approved, check your blog’s status regarding ranking. There are checks that show how much one can charge, say from $10 – $100. There are also those who can charge as high as $500. But of course, there would be buts here which I wouldn’t write anymore.
  4. When all these are done, one can start the bidding process. How? Here’s how:
    1. Look for available opportunities from advertisers.
    2. Be sure to read the description of the available opportunity. If it asks for blogs with PR3 and you don’t even have a PR, then don’t try to bid on that opportunity.
    3. Be sure to bid well within the range of prices set by the advertisers. For example, if the minimum bid price is $10 and the maximum bid price is $50, then don’t bid $75, even your bidding capability is up to $800.00. Yes, there are those who can charge as high as that, if there are advertisers willing to pay that.
    4. When bidding, try to bid using the maximum allowed bids. For the bidding price mentioned above, try bidding at half the price, or maybe even lower. Be sure to consider your blog’s ranking when doing the bidding. Blogs with high ranks are probably ok to bid high but to those of us without ranks, (Hello,Google? send some PR around here πŸ™‚ ), that is a risk I wouldn’t want to take. Why?
    5. If one bids high and there would be no takers, then there would be on income. If one bids at half the price, or maybe even lower, then one gets opportunities to write posts and earn.
    6. One important consideration to make though, try to match the bidding price to the kind of post one has to come up with. How?
    7. It is not equally commensurate to earn something like $3.25 (for the bid price of $5.00) if one has to write a full critique of an opportunity that requires 300 words.
    8. One important reminder though: read the rules before bidding.

I made a mistake once and I bid without reading what the website was all about. When I clicked on the link after I made the bid, I must have frozen when i saw photos of women baring flesh. I immediately emailed the technical support and asked if I could take back the bid and they emailed me back immediately. I can’t take back the bid because it has been made already. They told me to just ignore the opportunity if it accepts my bid, or something like that. I was glad they didn’t accept my bid or perhaps the bid expired.

There, interested? Leave a comment and I will tell you what this site is. Yes, I have earned some in this blog through this site. No, it is not that big yet. In fact, its too pathetic when I think about it.

But then again, no matter how small these amounts are, when put together, can total a big amount.

ayan, open for comments na, at last. πŸ™‚

tanong ko lang po. does the page rank of a blog have something to do with how much a blogger should charge in biddings? say, if one has PR 3, what’s the “ideal” rate can he/she charge?

You should Wenchie. Ako nga, bid ng bid, konti lang naman ang naapprove πŸ˜€

Feng, it all depend not just on the PR but the Technorati, Alexa, and one more I can’t remember. They would be giving you a range of how much you can bid, say, 50 – 500usd, it all depends on the overall ratings, of the blog, not just the PR. The PR is the advertiser’s requirement though not all require blogs having PR though it helps having PR since these ads can pay more. Hope I didn’t confuse you. Eating time na so we can discuss these things πŸ™‚

Hi Julie! is there a referral link I need to use for my sign-up to be credited to you? I think I will register. It’s good to read it’s not all PR that matters.

Chateau, I am not sure about a referral link. Actually,I think I need to read about these things. Kaya lang, nahiya ako to ask other bloggers to register under my name.I would definitely not fit to be a salesperson πŸ˜€

We will talk about these things when we meet, among other things siguro πŸ˜‰
