Dream Vacation

I have a not-so-short bucket list of the wonderful places I want to visit before I breathe my last breath:

  • Grand Canyon
  • Mesa verde
  • Death Valley
  • Yosemite National Park
  • Puget Sound
  • Acadia National Park
  • Vermont
  • Morocco
  • Iceland

I know naming these places seem so far out of my reach but as long as one is alive, one can dream, right? Even just ONE, just ONE from the list will be good enough for me.

With regards to choosing hotel accommodation though, I choose to go all-out though and that would have to be THE Bellagio Las Vegas

Why so?

I want to watch the Fountains on the Strip where about a thousand fountains dance to music and light.

Cirque du Soleil weaves an aquatic tapestry of artistry, surrealism and theatrical romance in the timeless production, “O”.

With newly, renovated rooms, I am sure a stay in the guests rooms with pillowtop mattresses, down comforters, marble and wood bathroom vanities, among others, will make the travel, the stay (and the bill!) worth it.

There’s another adventure I would like to try while in Vegas, and no, not the slots machines nor the casinos but Cowboy Trail Rides! Not that I am a good rider, nope I’m not but to see the the natural beauty of the place like Red Rock Canyon and Fossil Ridge are some things I would like to try. What better way to cap these trail rides and rest these tired bones while staying at Bellagio Hotel.

I am not optimistic these travels would happen, in fact, these may not happen at all except in my mind. But who knows, maybe some day when all the children are done with school, my hubby and I can indulge in something for ourselves 🙂

Throw the Junk Away

It has been 15 years exactly on this date since we moved into this home.

From one child we now have three. From a clutter-free home we now have a clutter-filled one.

De-cluttering is something I do every year but it seems that the junk still continue to accumulate because I don’t get rid of these, I just found other ways to store these out of sight. Getting the junk out of their hiding places is therapeutic for me because I get to assess what needs to get rid of and what needs to stay. Last time I de-cluttered, I found my unfinished cross-stitch patterns, some curtains I have forgotten, a hammer that hasn’t been used, and a pair of scissors I have been looking for.

Who knows, next time, I get to unearth the man of the house’s compression machinery mounts and small detail tools that he has been asking about.

When asked if its possible to have the old magazines donated he said yes, but only to the library of the school my late FIL founded.

Problem is, the place is just too far away so that means…. 🙁

This Schoolyear

Time sure flies by so fast and now we have a college freshman.

I know this is an exciting time for the daughter and there would be times when testing the waters to see how far she can go and what she can achieve on her own will be put to test.

As for this school year, not only was the wallet getting thin so to speak, the hairline gets thinner too, and whiter if I may say so. The daily expenses, the school supplies, the books she needs to purchase (not sure where to get used college books so we just let her buy new ones, argh.

There are just so many requirements for college. One thing that makes me feel comfortable is the fact that the daughter brings to school food cooked from home.

Hiking

I want to go hiking.

Trees

I want to feel the cool breeze and the sun’s warmth at the same time.

I want to feel tired and feel my leg muscles ache.

I want to sit under a tree and eat packed lunch.

I want to just walk and walk and sleep due to exhaustion at the end of the day.

On Washing Plates

I wrote about this particular buffet in this post.

This got me thinking though, “How do they manage to do dishes, knowing that there are hundreds of dishes to wash? Do they do these manually or use a dishwasher? What happens should their kitchenaid dishwasher repair needs to be serviced? How thoroughly are the plates washed?”

For sure I wouldn’t want to be the one to do the dishes since I do not enjoy the task, even at home where I only have a few plates to wash. I’d rather cook than wash plates.

St Vincent Church

The last time we went to St. Vincent Church, it still had unpainted interiors. Not that that was the last time I went to church, no, lol.

When we went to hear mass there last Sunday, it looked different because of the wall paint as well as the way the lights play on the walls and ceilings.

St. Vincent Church/ Seminary

I would love to see the church with its door closed. I am curious how it looks like and if these massive doors (the doors look heavy and are decorated) have captive knobs.
