Years ago, I told myself that I will take note of doors and take photos too.
I just found out that I haven’t done a lot of picture taking of doors, door handles, door hardware, any door fixtures or anything related to real doors.
Why should this even be significant for me?
Doors are symbolic. These can mean “opening up” or self-discovery, or missed opportunities, maybe a welcoming door, or a closing one.
Doors may mean coming inside the confines of a place someone else holds dear. Or going out of this door.
Whatever these doors symbolize is a personal issue.
Helen Keller said:
“When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.”

In the USA: The House passed on Sunday the Senate’s health care reform bill and a package of measures meant to reconcile differences between the Senate bill and the one it passed last year. Click here to read more.
Why am I interested in this topic when I am half a world away?
A few weeks from today, this country will be having its 2010 Philippine national election. Everyone’s talking about “change“, “reform“, being intelligent voters, computerization of manual voting and counting system as well as voting for the right person who represents the values you hold dear.
We have to admit though, election/campaign time is one of the times we hear what we want to hear, we are promised what we think we deserve and yes, we live in a dreamland, thinking of promised land beyond the campaign period.
Improved health care is one of the more obvious choice of promises being made to be delivered after being elected.
One of my criteria in choosing the candidate I will vote for would be the one who will prioritize population control.
I hope these priorities will become a reality and not just promises sworn on thin air.
Mar 21st 2010greenbucksBooks & Me & Thoughts
I just finished reading RAGE by Jonathan Kellerman. This is just one of his many books that I have read.
Brilliantly written book, as always and Alex Delaware and Milo Sturgis did not fail to deliver. They are a great team that child molesters, murderers, sociopaths and criminals would not want to meet, even between pages of a book.
This book Rage had several twists and turns that I had to re-read several pages I have read through sleepy stupor. The plot thickens, so to speak, as more secret lives are revealed one after another while Alex deals with his personal relationship with Allison, another psychologist. I am guessing they will end up breaking up or maybe they did already and I still have to get a book about it.
Learning disabilities as well as behavior problems were among the characteristics of the young people in this book apart from abandonment, lack of inadequate parenting and bad environment are just some of the contributing factors.
They probably do not even think about hormonal acne here, like “regular” or typically developing teenagers because of their life situation.
There is this one thing though, I don’t think I understood the ending, it seems to have a “hanging” ending. I may have to re-read that part again later.
I stopped reading Jonathan Kellerman‘s book for a while because weird though it may seem, I feel behavioral changes in ME whenever I read his books. I tend to get less patient. Could it be that his well-written plots with psychological babble and sinister acts affect me so much that the gory details get to me?
I hope not. I feel I have to get those few books he wrote that I still have to read and I hope never to read about the Filipina maid or Filipina nurse again.

Sad news I heard today, a friend’s mother-in-law has just been diagnosed with a stage 3 colon cancer.
A few weeks ago, a friend wrote an informative article about colorectal cancer. I have read it of course but has not taken the important details to heart. But now, I am reading it again and paying attention .
For someone who has been through an open choly years ago, I feel I have a lot of improvement to do regarding my lifestyle especially my diet.
A colon cleanse is also being considered among other things.
There may or may not be a connection with the procedure I went through and this condition but then again, now is always the right time to try to live a more healthy lifestyle, isn’t it?
Have you started a lifestyle change?
