Typhoon Mina is currently battering the northern side of the country with “Maximum sustained winds of 165 kph near the center and Gustiness of up to 200 kph”.

I’m sure the wind spinners are up there are going round and round wildly, if they are still standing up.

This same weather disturbance gave us a hard time when I went with my youngest child on her field trip to Pampnga last Wednesday. We had to endure the alternating rain shower and sun shine which gave me a headache. Gah! Good thing she has an almost water-proof jacket to wear because I, the super mom, forgot to bring an umbrella.

Anyway, I took a few flower photos when we visited and this is one of the photos that I like albeit the flowers are orange!

I love flower photos like this one. FYI, am not particularly fond of orange and I like this not because I was the one who took the photo. I know that anyone with a camera can take this kind of photo, right?

My post Christmas photo of the living room at my mother-in-law’s home. Lovely isn’t it?

For me, it feels like a fireplace with a roaring fire, a plush rug on glass mosaic tiles on the floor and a big rocking chair should complete the picture. Well, there is a rocking chair but not near the tree.

My interior designer brother-in-law prepped this as he always does every year. It takes a lot of time and patience along with creativity and style to make a home look like this.

Of course, it takes more than Christmas decorations to say the Christmas spirit is in the people’s hearts.

Real estate properties, jewelry and financial stocks are some of the ways people invest their money. Some buy gold while some acquire businesses getting more than what they have invested once these businesses turn in profit.

As for me, my investment would be the education of my children. Yeah, corny huh but then again, even with a two-income family, we still have difficulties making ends meet and more often, we try as much as we can to have simple fun or home cooked meals which can happen even without getting the wallet to pay for a bill or purchase.

I love my family and I’ve devoted a lot of time, energy and love in nurturing my children. I didn’t even go back to full time work even if the formerly home-schooled children are now in a regular school. I still teach a handful of students but being there for them when they get home is a joy I’d like to cherish for a long time. Yeah, even if I have to wake up at 4am everyday to prepare their packed food.

“How time flies” may be an old cliche but for us parents, this is something that holds true. I may have to wish for time to “take it’s time” because I want to savor special moments with my children while they are still young. That would be wishful thinking of course.

This month is the month a lot of children will have their First Communion and for us parents, it is one of the signs that the children are on their way to becoming more mature in different aspects of their life.

Has it almost been a year when our only son, wearing a white crisp long-sleeved polo and perfectly ironed black pants walked to the altar and received his first communion?

He was happy that day and so were we. He did look a bit odd in the group photo because almost everyone was wearing black ties while he had one with a maroon hue. I had to say no then to his request that we get a colored o

I don’t know the reason why but it seems my children has some sort of “aversion” to office work. I asked my eldest daughter if she wants to work in an office after college and she replied “What will I do there the whole day?” LOL.

There is probably no shortage for entry level management jobs but it seems that young people these days prefer to go out and conquer the world. I see nothing wrong because looking back, I don’t have it in me to be as risky as they are now and would not have taken these career moves.

Having my family with me gives me nothing to think that I missed something “big” out there.
