New Old

Hubby bought a slight-used (according to him) laptop yesterday after scouring laptop deals in the web for several days. He got a Dell Latitude e6400. He said the price he got it for was good enough and less than what is being offered in the other sites he saw.

This is just timely since the pc has conked out and is running on Ubuntu. The children say they miss their Win-based games and are begging me to have these installed in my laptop. Uh-oh.

Wait, does it mean I can now “inherit ” his netbook? Hmmm…

1.7M iPhone 4s Sales

Are you one of those 1.7M people who got iPhone 4s?

I sure hope you also got iphone insurance because you would never know if you iPhone is safe from those who have other thoughts when they see you using it.

Here in our country, mobile phones can disappear from your hands faster than you can say 1-2-3. No kidding.  Stores even sell these. So if you are going to buy “second hand” mobile phones without a box, manual, CD and other stuff, it is most likely what is called a GSM or “galing sa magnanakaw” which also means stolen cellphone.

Anyway, I myself want to have a unit. My online-generated stash says I can afford one but not when I buy these here since the price will get tripled. You know, taxes and everything. By the time this iPhone 4 gets here by September, I need to pay the tuition and it gives me excuse to NOT indulge.

But still, I want one!!! 😀

Behind the Camera

I was sorting through so many photos when I noticed something. I am rarely in the photos.

No, not because I always have acne, which incidentally, I have one that popped up a few days ago. Argh!

Almost always, I am the one taking photos and I tend to forget to ask one of the children to take a photo with me in it. I hope when the children are all grown up they won’t think I didn’t want to have photos taken with them 😀

Importance of Profile Pictures

Do you give importance to your online profile pictures?

Putting an online profile picture in your favorite social networking site is a must for your friends to “see” you.

Some put photos of themselves which during their teen years and so their friends during that time are able to recognize them pronto.

Some put their best current picture (of course, NOT the one with adult acne, lol).

Some put their blogs or website’s logo which is a good way to promote site traffic.

Online profile pictures are important because these represent who you are.

There are those who wish to remain a “shadow” or mysterious and don’t upload their photos. Their choice of course.

Watch and listen here to know about the importance of your profile pic.

Mystery Case Files: Prime Suspects

My kids and my students love playing Mystery Case Files: Prime Suspects.

Not only do they get to look for the objects in the given lists but they also get to exercise patience, patience and more patience in finding the hidden objects.

They also get to know new words like C clamps, fleur de lis, fedora and licorice.

It gives one a sense of accomplishment when everything has been found and one moves on to the next level.

How do I know? I play the game too 🙂

The Lovely Bones

I was looking for movies being shown the other day when I saw a title which intrigued me: “The Lovely Bones”

I looked for a synopsis and a trailer and I watched this in YouTube: The Lovely Bones

“My name is Salmon, like the fish. First name, Susie. i was fourteen years old when I was murdered on December 16th, 1973. I wasn’t gone. I was alive in my own perfect world. But in my heart, I knew it wasn’t perfect. My murderer still haunted me. My father had the pieces but he couldn’t make them fit. I waited for justice but justice did not come.”

Now I gotta read the book!

This is probably my kind of reading material which I would read than nose-bleeding on www.wholesaleinsurance.net with all its financial terminologies 😀

The book I’m sure is a tearjerker since the movie moved to me to tears  several times. Yes, I watched it last night with my hubby.
