Minecraft

The children love playing Minecraft. I also know of several children who are so into Minecraft.

There are times, when my kids are not allowed to use the bigger gadgets so they just use the demo versions in their phones and play hide and seek. In Minecraft.

Wondering what Minecraft is?

We Love our HP Printer

We do a lot of printing at home with three children going to school. We currently have one college freshman, one high school freshman and a fifth grader.

Here is our home printer, an HP Deskjet P2480. We still have an older HP Laserjet printer in the storage.

This printer serves as a scanner, copier and printer for our printing and file storage needs.

When it comes to printing a lot of colored pages though, we sometimes have these printed out from computer and printing establishments. We do have this place we go to for cheap postcard printing and even tarpaulin printing, if a need for that arises.

We also do not use the refilled ink from ink refilling station so that we won’t have printer problems later on.

Server Down

One of those things that gives the husband a big headache is this message: SERVER DOWN.

He has spent countless late nights on site and more late nights till early morning sessions with his laptop working from home because of this problem. This server down is just one of the problems he has to deal with along with controlling the social media sites that employees love to login to plus a myriad of other technology-based problems they encounter everyday.

I suggested they use attendance tracking software from Gneil if in case they need such help. he said he will look into it.

This is something to ponder when technology-based work is involved: do we want to go back to when things were being done “manually” and not be afraid of having to deal with technology sabotage of important work documents and details?

Congratulations Seb!

My husband is a big Formula 1 fan. Now, our son is a bigger fan than his father 😀

If they miss the live race, they will watch for replays. The son keeps tabs on the scores, not just for the current season but with other seasons as well. He is after all, a statistician even when he was way younger.

2012 Formula 1 season is a very exciting season and with only three points ahead of Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel wins his third Formula 1 Grand Prix championship.

Here are two photos I took a few weeks ago while they are watching livestream.

Formula1

This sleep deprived mom was up till 2am on a school night to keep an eye on the boy who was also up and bent on not missing the final race of the season which he has religiously followed from the beginning. Sigh…

I just hope he gets some sleep in the school bus.

X-Mini v1.1

I won this wonderful X-Mini v1.1 from a game of “Bring Me” in an event I attended. I would have loved to win one of those bracket tv stands they gave away but I got this instead and it is just as well.

X-Mini v1.1

I love it! The sounds are just right and I might just buy another one to make the sound better and balanced.

There is just one thing though that makes me sad.

I am supposed to charge the device for a few hours. I did that several times already using my tab’s charger and this X-Mini’s cable plugged to an electrical outlet.

When I use it, I plug that same usb part to my laptop but when I remove the usb part from my laptop (where I usually attach it), the music stops!

It is supposed to play 6 hours or so even if the usb part is not plugged (because it was charged!) to any device with the audio jack only attached. The speaker is dead and won’t play that way.

Sigh, I wish I could bring it to a store for technicians to look at what’s wrong but I don’t know where to bring it since I don’t have a receipt.

Help! Anyone!
