18 Wheels of Steel Across America

My son (and my hubby) loves to play PC racing games. Right now, son is beside me playing with Knight Rider race game.

One of the games they enjoy playing with is 18 Wheels of Steel Across America. They get to race across America carrying different kinds of cargo, maneuvering different kinds of streets, and buy truck accessories. Yes, son loves doing the “set-up” in cars and trucks.

The son learned a lot of places when he started playing this game. He even learned calculating distances, knowing when to gas up or not yet and converting miles to kilometers.

Road Trip

Road trips are one of the most enjoyable bonding times families (and friends too) can spend together.

As a family we have endless plans to go places but time or resources and perhaps both hinder us from doing so. The perpetual problem of who will mind the house and the dog while we are gone is also a bit of a problem. If it only feels safer where we are. Oh well.

Road trips in an rv is probaby fun because it is bigger and more comfortable.

I hope next weekend we can spend some time going on one. It seems like a long time since we went on a road trip.

Its Not Just a Car, Its a Ferrari

Exotic. Fast. Expensive. Rare. Collectibles.

These are just some of the words that best describe cars that are made in a limited number and can be rarely seen on the streets. One such car is the Ferrari, among others.

Moneyed people buy these mean machines. Racing enthusiasts do too as well as those who have the eye, the taste and the deep pockets for the prancing horse.

One would worry though where Ferrari parts can be bought especially to those living far from where the cars are being manufactured. All these are taken cared of, I guess, when one buys a model.

Street Racing

One of the things that make street racing cars (legal or otherwise) better than stock cars is the fact that these use performance parts that will enhance the car’s performance. Of course, these cars are not like the Formula One racing cars that require minutiae details not just in its design but in its engineering process.

I still vividly remember those drag races we use to go to when that mall beside Manila Bay was still being built. Adrenalin pumping to say the least. Just to hear the cars rev is enough to make one look on and watch.

For now, these street racers like that participants in Bullrun with which we await the second season should be thankful that these kinds of technologies are available to them.

For those who race in the middle of the night along a major road near where we live, I hope you know what you are doing.

On to the races, fellas! 😉
