Horseback-riding Days

When my eldest daughter was young, we used to go to that park above so she can go horseback-riding. She used to enjoy riding on horses and going around the park. There were also times when we go to somewhere south so that she can also ride horses.

Although she enjoys riding, she often complains of feeling pain on her back and legs. The basic essentials for riding comfort are there but its nothing like those english saddles to offer comfort. Of course we can’t do anything about this because we don’t own the horse nor do we own one.

If we have continued her riding then she could have been a very good rider now. Sad to say, the nearby park doesn’t have horses anymore so my younger children wouldn’t be able to enjoy riding on horses like their elder sister used to do.

Tiny Sand Crab, Another Photo

I have featured this Sand Crab here for Wordless Wednesday and here for Photo Hunter.

But I still want to feature another photo. Why?

Because I have several photos of this tiny creature and I just had to post this last one before the photos are archived.

I remember running after these sand crabs whenever we go to the beach, when I was a young girl. Well, I still do, try to catch them but they are just too fast for me, hiding into their little holes in the sand.

Speaking of sand, it is interesting to note that there are a lot of beaches here in the country with white powdery sand that from afar one would think these are diamond rings glowing.

The beach where I had that photo taken, I do not know why the sand where the waves hit turned black when the rest are not the same. The sand there is not as white as the other places in the country but it still puzzled me so because it was not like that when we went there before.

Minor oil spill perhaps? I hope not. I just want to share this post about the 31 Ways to Save the Ocean Group Writing Project that I joined early this year.

Family Vacation

It has been a long time since our family has taken a vacation. The last vacation we took was very memorable for us for the long and winding roads took us to mountain resorts, a huge dam, caves, hills and rivers.

So what would be an ideal vacation place for us? An ideal vacation place for our family is one where we can combine having fun and learning at the same time. Why so? The reason is not just about the homeschooling concepts that my two younger children need to understand but I have this innate need to recognize learning moments in every place and activity that we do.

Having fun can translate to going to seaside resorts to have a short dip in cool waters or to just walk barefoot in the sand. Marveling at the flora and fauna is exciting too.

Learning means going to art galleries and museums and knowing about the history of the place of choice.

Surfing the net got me interested in a certain place called Isle of Wight. My husband and our son are avid fans of the Isle of Man TT so this place, Isle of Wight piqued my interest.

Reading about the place made me realize that this is just the perfect place to go on vacation, not just for my family but to other people looking for a wonderful place to stay. Two key phrases that got me excited were dinosaur fossils and outstanding natural beauty. After exploring these wonderful places, it would be nice to relax at the Isle of Wight Hotel. I hope to explore villages where the houses have thatched roofs and gardens with scented colourful flowers blooming all around.

Ahhh, it is nice to think about these places and imagine. Who knows, when we are able to afford having a vacation like this, I already know where we would go.
