Exchange Links? Anyone?

This is just an observation for bloggers who want to exchange links, not about linking or pinging back some of their posts with their current post.
In my other blog, I had one commentor who wrote something like: “I have linked you with my other three blogs and I hope you do the same”. I repeat, this was what the “tone/message” that the blogger has written, though not exactly as I have written. Did I link the blogger? No, I didn’t ask this blogger to link me in the three blogs that s/he has, why would I link the blogs to mine, I don’t even visit the blogs mentioned.
At the beginning of my blogging “career”, I found it necessary to ask for other bloggers if they care to exchange links with them. What did I do? Most of them, I emailed, asking for this favor. I wanted to have virtual friends and I did. I was right in choosing these bloggers for until now, we still get in touch. Some of them became good, albeit, virtual friends who later on, became my buddies. Some blogs that I regularly visit, why, I haven’t asked them to exchange links with me, even if I have them in my links and even in my Google Reader.
Anyway, I digress, I am yapping too much here.
The gist of my topic is just this: I read in a friend’s blog, a comment like this:
i don’t see my name here. did we ever xlinks?
What the…?
What say you, huh?

Especially now that almost all bloggers are doing sponsored posts, this is the current and most ‘popular’ way to ensure links. Buti ka pa, you’re able to ignore such, ako nagugulat sa mga ganyan and even though hindi ko dinadalaw blogs nila, I link them up. But the thing is, after I’ve linked them, hindi ko na makita anino sa blogs ko *lol* And what’s more, minsan nagka time ako na talagang mag blog hop, I found out that they remove me from their links..parang after sabihin: I linked you I hope you do the same’ , inalis ako agad *evil grinning now* which reminds me, I better clean up my blogroll, goodbye to all the weakest links *lol*

Weng on 18 May 2008 at 1:37 am 3i get you, jul. 🙂 ako if i like a blog, i just simply add them to my links. 🙂 sometimes, out of courtesy, i do inform the blogger that i added them to my blogroll because i like his/her site but i don’t ask to exchange links. 🙂 i don’t recall ever asking “care to exchange links?” promise! did i ever ask you? kidding. hee hee hee! enjoy the weekend, jul! 🙂
monaco on 19 May 2008 at 2:00 pm 4I don’t usually ask for link exchanges. I just link a blog I like voluntarily. However, I also usually down turn down link exchange proposals as long as they ask for it – the operative word being ‘ask’, not demand.

Meeya on 20 May 2008 at 11:46 am 6hmmm, if someone wants to exchange links with me, ok lang, pero i don’t go around soliciting links naman for myself, hehe. ako kasi, i just link to a blog because i actually like the blog and read the blog and/or like the blog’s owner. if they link back, then thank you. kung hindi naman, no hard feelings. 🙂

Its not just linking, its the comments sometimes that get me so distraught that I can not help but spew some not-so-nice words which irritates hubby because he feels I am arrogant at these times.

greenbucks on 20 May 2008 at 9:25 pm 8Ay Thess, sinabi mo. Aminado ako, nandun sa post ko, I really swallowed my pride and asked other bloggers if they wanted to exchange links with me. Di ko pinagsisihan ang mga pinili ko.
Anyway, re doing SP, nothing wrong but maybe I am just stressing myself about this, writing posts in advance and saving these in my drafts so that when i have to do a SP, I have something worthwhile to post above that SP. Not something about thinking about going home to the Philippines (no pun intended because I am here in the Philippines) or about my child having a haircut or my thoughts about my neighbors. Who would want to read about that? Even in my TJ blog, I don’t post too personal things na, only those that (I hope) others who will read will be able to learn something from, somehow.
x-links mate, weakest link, bwahahaha 😀

At this point when I am doing SP and I really, really need those links but I didn’t ask for x-links. People might interpret me for intending this to happen just so I can get my pr or have a higher ranking and in turn get more SP opportunities. I linked others, including you, I didn’t inform you and the others so that you won’t feel compelled to do this in return.
