Forum Topics

Forums are everywhere in the net tackling topics like movies, tech reviews, weight losss supplements, parenting, love problems and a whole gamut of topic about anything and everything under the sun.

A while ago, a friend and I were talking about people who post in forums. We discussed a forum topic from a site we both don’t know anything about.

Apparently, one of the topics being talked about was a friend and whatever it took the haters to post something about this friend and for others to hate him without the benefit of the doubt is probably waaaay beyond me.

i have never really participated in forums and I know I may never know if I am good at it especially if it would mean bashing people behind their back without them knowing it and without them being able to defend themselves.

Sure, I can’t say I come clean and have not bashed someone else, whether intentionally or otherwise. But for people to talk about another people and everyone else and read about it and probably add more fuel to the fire? That is definitely foul and rude to say the least.

Been Busy

Yes, I am guilty of not updating this blog and my other blogs as well, except to put upย  Wordless Wednesday and Food Friday posts. I am not even able to blog hop those who came to visit my posts.

Been busy is all. Homeschooling two early grades is not like taking a walk in the park.

There are good days and not-so-good days.

I hope to be able to give more time to blogging than virtual farming too ๐Ÿ˜€

Farm Town

Facebook friends are going gaga over Farm Town, one of the addicting apps in Facebook. Who wouldn’t love this game, it is quite challenging to build one’s own dream farm, acquiring properties along the way by earning coins through hard work (read: plowing and planting one’s own farm and neighbors’ farms). It is also interactive, well, this depends on who your neighbors are of course.

There I am back when I was at level 8, amongst real life friends, having a photo opportunity in a JU’s farm. This was back when we had to do a screen shot of the farms because there was no camera yet ๐Ÿ™‚

I must say I am very happy with my neighbors and buddies that I might even enjoy living in my own farm rather than in my own neighborhood in RL, lol!

Have Anything Interesting to Tweet or Blog About?

Jonah Berger, who has been studying trends for several years, cautions people to do research first before doing anything, tweeting or blogging (or Plurking) about something that is interesting.

The topic may be that latest crazy video that has been getting a lot of attention, or the newest trend in diet supplement or maybe that used-to-be-ignored lowly vegetable that has so much health potential.

Whatever is it, Jonah Berger says that it is better to analyze the trend how this topic has penetrated the web or even the real world.

Why so?

You would not want to look like the only person who hasn’t seen nor heard of this interesting thing you found when a lot, say, more than half a million people have already seen or head of this interesting topic.

Yes, this topic is very much interesting and I hope I am not the millionth person to write about it. ๐Ÿ˜€

Be Indexed

Having your business website index is a good way to have the site easily searched in search engines. One needs to do a free directory submission to be able to be indexed.

Why is it important to be indexed?

People Googling key words and/or phrases are looking for sites that will give them answers to their queries. Your goal should be that our business site to land on the first page, because that is what usually people (like me) read thoroughly.

Submitting your site to a website index is just one of the steps you need to do. There are still a whole gamut of things to do that may be learned along the way.

In the meantime, be indexed first ๐Ÿ™‚

Mind Your Mobile Phone Manners

It is not surprising that a lot of people feel “bare” or “helpless” when they leave their homes without their mobile phones. Sometimes I feel that way too especially when I have appointments and would not have the means to know if they canceled or not.

In the instances I have left my mobile phones at home (I’ve got two for two telco services) I was of course thinking about calls and messages for me. I did not miss the games I can enjoy playing or the music I can listen to.

Come to think ofย  it, the church announces “All cell phone units to be turned off”. Cinemas too ask this from people. Does it mean that people are too much engrossed using their mobile phones that they are being told indirectly that it is rude to hear these gadgets make a noise.

But then, how come we see people rushing out of the church to answer a phone call? How come we hear the familiar beep-beep of an incoming message or a funky upbeat tune of an incoming call while the church service is going on?

What about that annoying person whose mobile phone rings in the middle of a romantic scene at the cinema? You can just grit your teeth and not say “@^%*%&%&$%@!” for this would be stooping down to their level. Whatever that means.

In a meeting? How come a participant is fiddling with his mobile phone? Maybe meetings should be a “No mobile phones allowed inside” zone. This way, participants have no way to conduct a “sub-meeting” in order to oust the chairman of the board secretly or tweet about his tie with an outrageous design ๐Ÿ˜€
