Month of First Communion

“How time flies” may be an old cliche but for us parents, this is something that holds true. I may have to wish for time to “take it’s time” because I want to savor special moments with my children while they are still young. That would be wishful thinking of course.

This month is the month a lot of children will have their First Communion and for us parents, it is one of the signs that the children are on their way to becoming more mature in different aspects of their life.

Has it almost been a year when our only son, wearing a white crisp long-sleeved polo and perfectly ironed black pants walked to the altar and received his first communion?

He was happy that day and so were we. He did look a bit odd in the group photo because almost everyone was wearing black ties while he had one with a maroon hue. I had to say no then to his request that we get a colored o

European Baked Goodies

I love multi-grain breads. Wheat bread too. Below is a wheat bread with some kind of seeds (can’t remember what was written on the label, this was given by the MIL a long time ago) on the crust. Soft inside and a bit crusty on the crusts (duh, what am I saying).

Anyway, this loaf was from a bakeshop that bakes and sells Europe-inspired baked goodies. The owner is a German married to a Filipina.
