Better Than Nothing

I have installed Skype in my gadget and I can’t wait to use it. But wait… I know I wrote that password somewhere. Or maybe hubby did.

Anyway…

It is amazing how technology has brought us closer to our love ones who are away from us. Through Skype-ing, conferencing services, Facetime, video calls, and other means we can communicate with them, we are still able to talk to each other, and see each other as well.

Of course, there would be those who’d say that nothing beats being able to hold your special ones’ hands, or being able to hug them close. We do know that but we still appreciate the fact that having communication means across the miles is far better now than three years ago.

Happy For My Friends

Looking at the children of my friends who excelled in school makes me happy for them. It is this time of the year where we are, that have parents beaming proudly and smiling from ear to ear because their children received special awards, recognition, trophies and medals in whatever field they have excelled in.

When I was still teaching preschool, everyone has their own awards, based on what they were good at. It not only boost the children’s self-confidence and increase their self-worth, it is also an affirmation that they can be the best

Make Your Own Gift Tags

We make our own gift tags. Although gift tags can be purchased at a minimal price, from Php5.00 – 15.00, making your own does not just make you creative but these gift tags have a feeling of being more personalized.

Below are samples of basic gift tags we’ve made last year:

gift tags

All you need to make gift tags are the following:

  • special papers in various colors, could be new or scrap from school projects (yes, do not throw these yet)
  • craft scissors
  • scrapbook embellishments (with adhesive would be better)
  • glue
  • one hole puncher
  • different kinds of ribbons

You can also design your own gift tags and print these out. I don’t want to do this though because ink is kinda expensive 😉

Peeking In

Don’t we just love a nice bathroom vanity?

One of the better features of restaurants, hotels and other places where you pay to eat or use their facilities would be to have decent bathrooms. Of course having a luxurious bathtub and high class bathroom amenities would even be great.

Personally though, I find taking photos of yourself or anyone else inside a bathroom feels icky because a bathroom is a personal sanctuary. Doing so feels like exposing one’s self to the world, hence our blurred faces.

Do you agree?

Can’t Sleep

It’s 3am and am already up. I can’t seem to sleep well and I don’t know why. Maybe it is the summer heat since I woke up to drink a glass of water. Maybe because I slept early. Or maybe because the foam mattress is not as comfortable as it used to.

Last Sunday the family was up at this same hour, getting ready to go to our run, which I haven’t written about yet

Been extremely busy with the children’s activities. I think we still have two or three activities to hurdle, the biggest one would be the third trimester exams and the overnight camping for the Scouts.

Fancy Bracelets

This is my bracelet a breloques.

This is my daughter’s DIY ring, made up of a craft gem and rolled paper.

I am planning to do a DIY/crafts program for my students this summer and this include making fancy trinkets and jewelry like bracelets, necklace and earrings. I have been canvassing my “suki” where I buy fancy bracelets for the materials I need: charm for bracelet, wires, elastic bands of fish net thread, trinkets and semi-precious stones.

I just wish I would be able to get these materials at a reasonable price without having to go somewhere a bit far like Quiapo or Divisoria.
