Wish List Items

Today is the dear youngest child’s birthday. At this very moment, she is enjoying her new music player given by her Ninang Kim. She did write a wish list and I’m glad there were no toy soldiers nor toy guns with bushnell rifle scopes in it.  We have enough of these toys between her and her older brother. She enjoys these kind of toys, “military toys” according to her.

Except for one or two in her wish list, a little girl might have a brighter smile come Christmas eve 😉

Pros and Cons on Online Discount Vouchers

I’ve been subscribed to two or maybe three online discount deals. So far, I bought several online discount vouchers and I haven’t used them yet, I just hope these aren’t expired yet!

Mulling on the pros and cons of buying online discount vouchers, I came up with these:

Pros on buying online discount vouchers:

  • you save a lot
  • you can now afford to go to places (restaurants, salon, spa, resorts, hotels) you otherwise can’t afford if not for these discount vouchers
  • you get to experience new things

Cons on buying online discount vouchers:

  • yes, you save a lot but you buy vouchers because these are inexpensive and not because you need these
  • you think you are saving substantial amount by getting these but have you really paused and asked your self: “Do I really need these?
  • you pay for vouchers you don’t really need at the moment

So before you click that “buy now’ button, the bottom line for this new shopping trend is to ask yourself: “Do I really need to buy these online discount vouchers?”

I don’t know how it is with others but I don’t grab these online discount vouchers like there’s no tomorrow or if I do, I’d probably be saying goodbye to my online earning 😀

Gifts Ideas

My two younger children anticipate opening of their Christmas gifts every year even if they already know what the gifts are. Yes, they choose the toys they like to get for Christmas, as I’ve already written here.

They are getting a big Lego bricks bucket, toy animals in the tree house, a big 2010 Formula 1 car and some super hero gifts for kids among others.

No surprises eh? I don’t know why but our children grew up not believing in Santa Claus at the same time, they grew up singing “Happy Birthday Jesus” during Noche Buena.

Official Christmas Break

Yey! It’s vacation time for the children and I which means I don’t need to wake up at the ungodly hour of 4am to cook for packed lunch. Although the children wanted to wake up much much earlier than 4am to go to the dawn masses, I doubt they’d even have the strength to open their eyes to do that. They’ve been sleeping later than usual since Thursday night.

We plan to visit my parents during this Christmas break and I’m sure a lot of families have plans to visit their families who are away from them. I got the hubby a discount voucher from an online seller for some car maintenance in anticipation of the travel we will do and I’m sure, people are gearing up to do motor home repairs, if they have not done that yet.

I’m just thankful we don’t have snows on the roads here so traveling is easy. But we have traffic, traffic and more traffic everywhere which is even worse, I think.

Dead Spots

Am surprised there are still “dead spots” in some areas and that includes our home. I still get those “No network available” or “select network access” reminders.

A dead spot is a zone within the range of a radio transmitter where little or no radio signal can be received.

And yes, there have been times I’ve almost missed appointments because there were no confirmation sms from my clients for the same reason that their sms replies were re-directed to their “Outbox” folder and not sent to me. Yeah, we have the same telco provider.

I remember how I use to go near the window on the side of the living room to be able to send an sms, LOL. Who would have thought there are still areas in the house that signals can’t reach. I think we need cell boosters or we need to change telco providers.

Sometimes it is frustrating to try to re-send messages only to read “Retry. Your message was not sent.”
