Future Plans

I don’t know the reason why but it seems my children has some sort of “aversion” to office work. I asked my eldest daughter if she wants to work in an office after college and she replied “What will I do there the whole day?” LOL.

There is probably no shortage for entry level management jobs but it seems that young people these days prefer to go out and conquer the world. I see nothing wrong because looking back, I don’t have it in me to be as risky as they are now and would not have taken these career moves.

Having my family with me gives me nothing to think that I missed  something “big” out there.

I Miss Summer

Now that school has started and I need to, have to, must wake up at 4am (or 4:30am when I have cooked food for packed lunch the night before), I admit to say, I miss summer. Yes, I miss summer with its super scorching days, snotty children from the informal settlers area playing on our front gate and cravings for halo-halo.

We planned to go camping last summer but we weren’t able to do anything like it. We have the necessities to do it, two tents, sleeping bags, eager children with lazy parents. Boo! We were even prepared to go all the way like get a pair of binoculars, portable lamp and camping stove. But nah, nothing came out of the plans.

So now I encourage my children to join the Scouting Movement in school to be able to experience how to be a camper and a Scout at the same time. I think that would be cool.

I am the Cook

I spent some time organizing my photos and saw the re-sized ones I have used in my blogs. I noticed that most food photos I have can be found in this blog and this other blog.

I may have to think about the best diet pill even if I am just looking at these photos 😀

I am not a great cook, nor do I pretend to be one. I can cook, yes, but my cooking is “just right” for the family’s consumption. It is when the children say that they like the food I prepared that makes my heart swell.

Oh, they would rather eat home-cooked meals they tell me.

Dinner Invite

We have been invited to dine with hubby’s relatives tonight. It’s his cousin’s belated birthday celebration along with this cousin’s mom’s birthday. Double celebration means food, food and more food.

I know it doesn’t help that I just saw a noxycut page last night and that this household sure knows how to cook super yummy dishes. Guilt trip to the max it will be when we go there tonight.

And yeah, I think we are going back a week from now because they will be having their patron feast celebration 😀

Pata Tim

Pata Tim (Braised Pork?) is one yummy food to eat especially when the meat is tender and flavorful.

pata tim

This dish is one of the absolute favorites with my husband’s family. I like it too but I do not attack this with the same intensity that I used too. I can almost hear this pork fat-laden food cry “you need fat burner!” every time I take bites 😀

This is actually a treat for us since we don’t usually have pork at home. This is a good excuse to have a glass (or two) of ice cold Coke. 😉

Summer Fun

Summer is almost over and the children will go back to school in a few weeks time.

They enjoyed some outdoors time in their inflatable pool. They played golf in the front yard using a new golf set that looks like the real thing though smaller. When they play golf, the pool is the lake and the cemented portion is the sand trap 😀

One thing I have not done for this summer was to get outdoor furniture including patio furniture cushions so that I can stay outdoors while I work on my online tasks and see them while they are playing. I hope its not too late to get a set of these.
