Dental Health

One of the most neglected body part in terms of health care would be the teeth, especially for those who live in the hintherlands. The number of free dental clinics would attest to that.

Why, I even saw a television documentary where the hosts gave away toothbrushes and tubes of toothpaste. I am sure orange nj dentists and their clinics would be very busy there.

Seriously, dental health is important because of the many functions of the mouth area and these do not just include eating but a whole lot more like speaking, swallowing, and over-all health care of the body.

So, get that dental health care and smile :)

Opening of Classes for SY 2009-2010

Opening of classes are slated June 8, 2009 but many univerisities preferred to move the event to next week, June 15 or June 16. One of the universities has three cases of students who has AH1N1 virus.

In my eldest daughter’s school, they sent an email that classes will resume on Monday. Email also noted that students who went overseas should take extra care. Filipinos with relatives abroad take vacations and go to places  like New York, LA, Frisco and Vegas vacations during summer school break.

Anyway, the email regarding my daughter’s school opening was more about taking precaution against dengue which has taken more lives and which is more deadly than the other condition.

For now, I am convincing my daughter to bring a bottle of our citronella insect repellent and a bottle of alcohol with her in her bag.

Signs on the Posts

On some of the posts that we see on the road, there are signs that advertise about losing weight. Fast.

I may want to do that but I think looking for the best appetite suppressant PLUS a good fitness regimen PLUS a steel resolve to not succumb to temptation. Temptation meaning sweets, carb-loaded food, deep fried greasy food, and salty chips.

Ok, I will start that diet.

After I have that bowl of potato chips dipped in sour cream :D

Eye Care

The other day, I took a photo of my eye and I was surprised to see the difference than when I took a photo of the same eye last year.

I guess not wearing my prescription glasses (I am near-sighted) has affected the area so there are some wrinkles I now see that weren’t there last year.

I wrote and asked about facial regimen and I know I also need to focus on my eyes.

I think I need to look for a good anti wrinkle eye cream soon for I know I am going to need one :D

Any recommendations?

Running During Weekends

Hubby has set his sights on running during weekends. In fact, he is even considering signing up for running events this summer and this enthusiasm has rubbed on the children so much that they have their new sets of running shoes.

I know running is good and I am willing to try it out too.

For now, we are on the look out for other means to physically exercise even when we can’t run. I know we have this Theraband Ball which I am sitting on right now but could have other purposes if I am creative enough to use it for its sole purposes.

Obesity, Who Do We Blame?

The cases of people, even children, with obesity is rising steadily.

So who do we turn an accusing finger at?

The fast food for offering hard-to-resist deep-fried and high in calorie food offerings?

The candy and chocolate manufacturers for making their sweet offerings very much appreciated by those with sweet tooth?

The bakeshops, donuts stores, dessert and pastry chefs who continually experiment with so many yummy concoctions that are hard to resist?

No not them really, they are not entirely to blame for this obesity problem.

Have we looked at how we live our lives?
