Ted Williams

Ted Williams, the golden-voiced former homeless man is one inspiring story for the start of a new year.

Of course, what he came to be by way of drugs and alcohol is not at all something that is inspiring but because he has a talent, a “golden voice” that captivated millions of people, Ted Williams was given great opportunities for another chance to be a better person.

We need inspiring real-life stories such as this to lift our spirits and be challenged to do more than we can.

Dead Spots

Am surprised there are still “dead spots” in some areas and that includes our home. I still get those “No network available” or “select network access” reminders.

A dead spot is a zone within the range of a radio transmitter where little or no radio signal can be received.

And yes, there have been times I’ve almost missed appointments because there were no confirmation sms from my clients for the same reason that their sms replies were re-directed to their “Outbox” folder and not sent to me. Yeah, we have the same telco provider.

I remember how I use to go near the window on the side of the living room to be able to send an sms, LOL. Who would have thought there are still areas in the house that signals can’t reach. I think we need cell boosters or we need to change telco providers.

Sometimes it is frustrating to try to re-send messages only to read “Retry. Your message was not sent.”

Discount Vouchers

I admit, I’m not one who has a real affinity to online shopping because I’d rather get physically tired and be able to experience the sights, smells and other sensations that go with shopping.

I was surprised though that I signed up with a local discount site where I can buy coupons at an outrageously discounted rate. No kidding.

I got a voucher for facial/acne treatments (which I plan to use before Christmas) and a voucher for a car maintenance service for the hubby.

I missed the spa vouchers so I guess I would have to wait for another one to be offered 🙂

Web Linked 7

My friends and I were so eager to start a new business venture but due to our busy-ness, we had to hold off for now. Even the website looks kinda sad and neglected, like the group blog. Sigh.

With Christmas fast approaching, this has to be shelved for now but I know we will resume our talks as soon as we have spare time. There is still so much to do:

  • apply for business permits
  • write company profile and objectives
  • submit to web site directory/ies where we hope someone will take notice
  • draft a plan with long-term and short-term goals

For now, we just write down our ideas to be discussed once we sit on the project and allot time for it to develop.

Cooking Up Something New

Yes, I’m cooking up something new and I’m excited.

I hope I can keep up with all the online sites I currently have.

But, but… I have to be doubly hardworking and stop going to time-stealer sites like Plurk, Facebook and Twitter. Not that active in twitter but I just love reading the links of the news agencies I follow.

Lady Gaga YouTube One Billion Hits

No doubt about it, Lady Gaga with one billion hits  on YouTube has got to be the most watched personality online.

Someone asked me why Lady Gaga is so popular. I can’t remember what I answered exactly but I said I think she is very popular because her songs are dance-able and easy to remember. The fact that her fashion sense borders on the ridiculous if not atrocious makes her even interesting.

Frankly, I don’t even know how she looks like without her make-up unless I Google her name and look at her photos.
