I Miss the Cold Mornings

Ang init!” is everyone’s mantra these days to think that summer just started the other day. The heat is unbearable and it seems that everyone wants to eat halo-halo and/or drink fruits shakes 😀

Cooler destinations are crowded of course, especially those nice houses with Amish fireplaces where one can sit in front of to counter the cool weather.

Ahhh, I miss those cool mornings when I take my morning bath and my teeth are chattering. The heat is just so much and we are taking a lot of precautions so we will not get sick.

So, what are your summer destinations?

*ang init = it is so hot!

Dirty Air

Dirty air, among others, causes a lot of health problems.

I know because my son is having asthma attacks now and I am suffering from allergy right now, with my eyes all red and itchy too. Achoo! Excuse me.

Asthma season is in I think, since we have been having gray skies for days with drizzles now and then (yeah, I sound like a weather reporter).

A friend has been looking for eczema treatment because her condition has worsened after the holidays and two culprits would be because of the food served during Christmas season plus the pollens floating all around.

Dirty air, go away! Please.

Backyard Gardening Projects

Hubby asked me why I haven’t started started the backyard garden since I pulled all the vegetable plants when the rains “ruined’ these. By ruined I mean the bitter gourd yield turned orange, the lemongrass wilted, the basil leaves got eaten by aphids and so on.

The seed packets are waiting. The not-soil pack is waiting for me too and I hope it has not expired (if there is such a thing) yet. The lovely colored pots are dusty already. And I can’t find my work gloves.

Excuses, excuses.

Oh wait, I started planting something yesterday, a pandan plant. I hope it will stay alive since I am not sure if it will thrive. If it lives, then we can have pandan rice everyday and pandan jelly and chicken wrapped in pandan leaves. Woot!

I used coffee grounds in the soil by the way, it is good for the soul soil.
