I am the Cook

I spent some time organizing my photos and saw the re-sized ones I have used in my blogs. I noticed that most food photos I have can be found in this blog and this other blog.

I may have to think about the best diet pill even if I am just looking at these photos πŸ˜€

I am not a great cook, nor do I pretend to be one. I can cook, yes, but my cooking is “just right” for the family’s consumption. It is when the children say that they like the food I prepared that makes my heart swell.

Oh, they would rather eat home-cooked meals they tell me.

Pata Tim

Pata Tim (Braised Pork?) is one yummy food to eat especially when the meat is tender and flavorful.

pata tim

This dish is one of the absolute favorites with my husband’s family. I like it too but I do not attack this with the same intensity that I used too. I can almost hear this pork fat-laden food cry “you need fat burner!” every time I take bites πŸ˜€

This is actually a treat for us since we don’t usually have pork at home. This is a good excuse to have a glass (or two) of ice cold Coke. πŸ˜‰

Mojos and Garlic Dip

foodfriday

Mojos and zesty garlic dip from Shakey’s.

Mojos and Zesty garlic dip

An absolute favorite of the kids. I admit I like it too (with ketchup and chili sauce) if not for the “deep fried” part. Anything deep-fried is a no-no to me πŸ™

This is a wonderful side dish as long as the slices are well done and crispy and not soggy.

5,845 Dishes Cooked with Kraft Eden Cheese

foodfriday

Last month, I blogged about Kraft Eden cheese and the goal to cook 5,000 dishes to top India for the Guinness world record for the most number of dishes cooked.

5,845 Dishes Cooked with Kraft Eden cheese

And they did! 5,845 dishes cooked with cheese, woohoo! So we show the world that we Filipinos are cheesy, huh?

Cheese tart (I think)

Check the Kraft Eden YUMM Sarap ng Buhay site for some cooking ideas and if you want to contribute a recipe. Mine is the cheesy turon πŸ™‚

Now I am off to read about NC health insurance as a favor for a friend πŸ˜‰

Oh by the way, do we have FF next Friday?

Tuna Steak

foodfriday

Tuna steak marinated in soy sauce, ground pepper, lemon juice, dried rosemary and oyster sauce, served with fried egg over steaming rice.

Tuna Steak

Perfect for a late night breakfast dinner.

A combo of these things with a variation with the tuna steak is something I prepare for hubby whenever he gets home late from work.

I am not fond nights when he gets home late because I fear for his safety. Plus I have to think of ways to get rid of dark circles under my eyes the next day πŸ˜€
