Debenhams Sale

Last night, when we had an unexpected trip to the mall, I chanced upon a sale on shoes and bags (and clothes too) at Debenhams TriNoma. I was trying to try shoes that should perfectly fit me but I wasn’t able to get a pair. I wasn’t able to get a bag too.

First because the shoe sizes were a tad too big. Second, the bags, I can’t choose which one I like best among 4 choices. Third, the kids were complaining they want to have dinner already. But I didn’t complain when they were choosing their books at the bookstore, lol.

If not for the three factors, the barcode labels of at least a pair (or maybe even two) and a bag would have been scanned for me.

I’m going back tomorrow. *crossing my fingers* I hope I can still get one of those bags I’m eyeing.

Soft Suede Boots

Most women (and men too) love shoes. Am not a shoe collector like most women, I don’t know why, maybe because I’m more of a rubber shoes and/or flipflop-wearing person. I am not comfortable wearing pumps with heels.

But! I have been eyeing this soft suede boots when we went to Forever 21 store. I didn’t know I’d love womens boots (though this is low-cut sort of boots) considering the weather can to be too hot and not exactly conducive to wearing this pair.

But! if Forever 21 will have a sale, I’m gonna get this pair, IF there’s still left 😀

Cyber Monday?

I know about Black Friday sale but Cyber Monday?

Hmmm… this is exactly the kind of sale that I am looking for. Not kidding since I wrote about needing to get a handy netbook for me.

Here in the Philippines, though mall sales happen almost every month or even more often than that (what with malls mushrooming all over the metro and the countryside, there’s bound to be a sale every weekend), big discounts on tech gadgets are not as big as Black Friday’s or even Cyber Mondays.

And during major mall sales, I probably don’t want to risk going through throngs of people and survive unscathed unless I go fully prepared 😀

Of Mannequins and Their Sizes

When we went window shopping last Saturday, the kids were laughing at a certain mannequin at one of the sports stores  we went to. My youngest daughter remarked that it was “ang laki ng muscles!” or “the muscles are big!” I looked at the guy mannequin and laughed too, for he looked like he had too much hgh supplements 😀

On second thought, the place was a sports store so a muscled mannequin wearing sports clothes is just fitting. In the clothes section, lady mannequins look like life-size barbie dolls and this does not represent the average woman’s size. Ahem, ahem.

I cringe when I see mannequins with big bosoms and ample hips. Do they really have to do that?

Big vs Small Retail Stores

With these big supermarkets otherwise known as “hypermarket” opening at almost every available space, it is no wonder that small businesses are losing their usual customers.

Where we are staying, a big hypermarket from a big company of malls just opened up. We decided to check it out one time and although we found the usual stuff being sold in their other outlets, it is still a bit reassuring for some that such an outlet exists within a few minutes from where we live. With school children, one does not know when there is an emergency urgency to get something for school to be used the next day.

On the other hand, I feel that the small businesses in the vicinity of this big store, meaning a few minutes ride and drive, are threatened. Good if these have business insurance to back them up in times of need.

I hope these smaller businesses won’t fold up like how I see happening in the rural areas.

Shoe Talk

We just got both of the two younger children a pair of shoes each two months ago but now these can hardly fit. In fact the youngest daughter was able to wear her pair once and that was it.

Yes, they indeed grow up fast and so we have to watch out for what we buy them especially foot wear so these are not outgrown after a few weeks.

For now, choosing their shoes would be up to our preferences but in due time, they would choose what they like but that’s ok, as long as these are within the budget and these shoes are known to be of better quality that other brands.

Oh, this reminds me that I have to look at some Naot sandals that were recommended by a friend. For me, of course 😉
