Burberry Theme Party

Party in style with a Burberry theme party:

Burberry-themed party

Concentrating on the details is one way to have that authentic feel in whatever party theme one has her sights on.

Be prepared though to pay for these detailed things or if one is artistic, patient, has a lot of spare time and crafty enough, everything can be handmade.

Home Baked Goodies

Am not really a baker but I am a frugal mom.

Brownies and Butterscotch bars

For the boy’s birthday, home-baked brownies and butterscotch bars were brought to school along with steamed hotdogs, huh, I know this is a *rolled eyes reaction* but the children loved the snacks we brought.

It warms my heart to hear the boy’s classmates say they love the brownies and these tasted good.

I really want to learn to bake well and so I look at different websites to learn how to do this properly. I also do the “Become a Fan” in different Facebook pages about baking and other stuff regarding food preparation.

HDR Bottles

I have fun using the different camera apps in my mobile device.

One of the things I like is the HDR camera app because it enables me to take crisp (and yeah, out of this world and impossibly) vivid photos.

Here was one that I did, using MIL’s colored bottles propped on the window sill:

Vivid colors, ey?

The Piano

No, I am not referring to this piano at the MIL’s home.

I love short films and I particularly like this: The Piano

The hubby is great with keyboards along with the eldest daughter.

The youngest daughter used to play the recorder and had wanted me to get her flutes and piccolos, very much like the days the eldest wanted a harpsichord. Harpsichord? I don’t even remember seeing one so it was really something we look back to and remember fondly 😉

I Miss Going to Picnics

I have always, always wanted a foldable picnic table.

chinelas

In fact when I was looking for a table to be used in the room where I teach, I have been partial, no, drawn towards those with foldable legs and/or can be folded in half and table legs folded under.

We don’t always go on picnics because my family always wake up late during Sundays but there’s no harm in getting ready so we can go have one  if they decide to wake up early, right? Right. wishful thinking.

I hope they will indulge my whim to go on one next weekend because it is my son and I’s birthday weekend 😉

Goodbye, Lola D

Hubby’s grandmother passed away three weeks ago. She died at 90+ years old. She was not really sick because she had illnesses or other condition, she was weak because she was old already. Her long life can be attributed to healthy living and healthy eating.

Healthy eating is something we take for granted, in favor of yummy eats that clog the arteries, fatten the liver, make blood sugar high and do unwelcome things to the body. Would you rather do funeral planning guide for your love ones or spend a longer time with them?

A nutritionist once told us in a talk and cooking demo that the best way to go would be to die a natural death than die with tubes attached to the body. The former was how Lola D left.
