Lunch Crowd Buzz

I am by my lonesome waiting for the hubby as he gets some hardware stuff for a workplace he is helping with: cctv cameras, new computers, long hdmi cables, and furniture to go along with these.

The lunch crowd’s buzz above the music makes me crave for the home’s quiet pace. I wonder how people with their netbooks and tablets open can work with the noise.

I’m guessing they are just tweeting or checking Facebook. Lol.

On Mobile Phones

Mobile phones are not what they used to be. If a decade ago, we only need these mobile phones to send sms and make calls (and yeah, play Snake mobile game) these days, mobile phones like the motorola mc55 show how much technology has changed and shrunk in terms of size.

This used to be high-tech back in the day. It is definitely obsolete these days but hey, I still use the phone and still even play mobile golf, lol.

I think mobile phones did something to the brain’s capability to memorize because people nowadays have a hard time recalling phone numbers or birthdays not listed in their mobile phones whereas before, it was easier to memorize phone numbers. Or in my case, I used to be good with this, until the 11-digit numbers came to be.

Downloading Apps from Google Play

As of this moment, I am downloading have downloaded Angry Birds Space in my android gadget using the kids’ netbook. It even asked me to choose the device where I want it downloaded to.  I use two android devices with one Google account.

Let me see if I can have a vlc download so I can watch my favorite tv series or the kids can watch their favorite animated movies (or past Grand Prix races).

This is “technology at your fingertips” and I love it 🙂

Instagram on Android

For Android users, you can now use Instagram on your gadgets. Just go to Google Play, and download for free.

I also created my account there several hours after it was released.

Here are some of my photos:

Online Deals for Gadgets

I am a big fan of groupon sites though I have stopped buying for now. We’ve bought several restaurant deals, food deals and tech gadget deals. One of the latest we got was an Archos Key MP3 player for my youngest daughter. The son’s MP3 player was also from another deal though it is a different brand name.

The kids expressed wanting to have an Archos tablet for browsing (mostly watching YouTube videos and playing online fun games) but we missed the deal on this one. I think it was because I already ordered and paid for the MP3 player when I saw it.

Maybe next time, we’ll get this for them. In the meantime, they are using the my and my hubby’s smartphones since they are on vacation with our parents.

Better Than Nothing

I have installed Skype in my gadget and I can’t wait to use it. But wait… I know I wrote that password somewhere. Or maybe hubby did.

Anyway…

It is amazing how technology has brought us closer to our love ones who are away from us. Through Skype-ing, conferencing services, Facetime, video calls, and other means we can communicate with them, we are still able to talk to each other, and see each other as well.

Of course, there would be those who’d say that nothing beats being able to hold your special ones’ hands, or being able to hug them close. We do know that but we still appreciate the fact that having communication means across the miles is far better now than three years ago.
