Cajun Chicken Pasta

This is my Filipino version of Cajun Chicken Pasta that I got from The Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond‘s blog. Now, If you don’t know who she is, quick! do click the link to her name and believe me, you WILL spend hours reading her blog.

Chicken Pasta

I know, my pasta pales in comparison with hers, LOL, but hey, the kids got clean plates and even asked for seconds. I used Italian seasoning (combination of different herbs) instead of Cajun seasoning which I’m not sure can be found in the supermarkets. I must look harder next time. We have had this several times since I first tried to cook it.

Now excuse me while I go looking for hot tub covers online ๐Ÿ™‚

Ingredients here just in case.

Waiting for My Hoop

I’m waiting for word when my order of a Hoopnotica will arrive. I’m actually thinking of getting a cheap one to use for practice since I (shhh…) don’t know how to use a hoop! ๐Ÿ™

Pathetic really but I want to lose weight using this device while I’m thinking if I should take women diet pills.

And with Christmas just a few more weeks to go, I really need to get back to a fitness routine or something like it before I look like a bloated whale. Ugh.

Acne Alert

One of my students asked me to go online and help him look for acne remedies. This was because he got a big zit on his nose ๐Ÿ˜€

So ok, we read through a lot of sites including http://www.teenage-acne.org among other sites.

From our readings, we discussed how personal hygiene, importance of sleep and rest and proper nutrition all play big roles in keeping the skin blemish free.

And yes, keeping the hands/fingers off the zit is also just as important ๐Ÿ˜€

So Many Things to Do

We just had dinner. Breaded and deep fried chicken fillet and spaghetti with tomato-based sauce. Now I feel sleepy because I am full.

Ironic because just this afternoon I was talking about how to lose weight quickly.

My youngest daughter once asked me why I tend to eat more than she eats. I told her I need the energy to keep up with all the things I need to do: go to work, do house chores, help them with their homework and projects and finish other online tasks.

If I don’t eat, I don’t know if I have the energy to even think about how I will accomplish the things I need to do.

Later as I get the children ready to go to bed, I really hope I can have enough sleep because I still have to wake up at 4am to prepare packed lunch for school tomorrow. Sigh.

Spook-tacular Halloween Party Treats

Some mommy blogger friends and I together with the Dona Elena Cuisinera Club members attended the Dona Elena Cuisinera Spook-tacular Halloween Party Treats the other weekend.

Cheesy Pasta

Pasta is one of the best things to have for brunch.

I like cheesy pasta though my eldest daughter has some sort of aversion to it. She likes cheese but too much in pasta makes her feel uncomfortable.

pasta

This was from the buffet of Annabel’s when we attended a cooking event last year (almost a year ago na pala ito). I sat with a mommy blogger and her nurse daughter and we talked about so many things then particularly our Ondoy experience. What happened prompted her at that time to get life insurance quotes for her family.

Please do check out some of the recipes from Dona Elena Cooking Demo in these posts.
