Tiny Apartment with 24 Rooms

Tiny apartment with 24 rooms? Impossible you say, but not for Architect Gary Chang who transformed this 344 sq ft apartment into 24 rooms. Watch this closely:

This video is amazing!

For would-be homeowners who are currently having their homes built and painstakingly design (or work with interior designers) the rooms in the house, they can take inspiration from this video before they canvass door knobs, fabrics, tiles and even industrial handles.

Building structures nowadays does not only mean relying on face value. Building structures is now more about having a design that will maximize space and natural lighting among others as well as lessen carbon footprint.

Is your home one that can be considered as such?

Cyber Monday?

I know about Black Friday sale but Cyber Monday?

Hmmm… this is exactly the kind of sale that I am looking for. Not kidding since I wrote about needing to get a handy netbook for me.

Here in the Philippines, though mall sales happen almost every month or even more often than that (what with malls mushrooming all over the metro and the countryside, there’s bound to be a sale every weekend), big discounts on tech gadgets are not as big as Black Friday’s or even Cyber Mondays.

And during major mall sales, I probably don’t want to risk going through throngs of people and survive unscathed unless I go fully prepared ๐Ÿ˜€

Brand Conscious

I am sure a lot of brand-conscious and brand-name dropping people will say “woot” at the mention of Vera Wang dresses.

No offense meant if you are one, if you can afford these dresses, why not? Woot for you ๐Ÿ™‚

What irks me most is when when people name-drop brand-names of things that they use like their cheese or maybe what? soy sauce? (like it is gonna make their food more flavorful than those cooked using cheaper and local brands) even if NO ONE is asking. Duh?!

I’m sure you’ve met one or two with this trait. Why some will even go to great lengths to say HOW MUCH they bought such and such.

I found this fun quiz which you can take to see if you are brand conscious or not.

Are you game to take the quiz?

Shopping for Digital Cameras

It is now officially summer in the country and I am sure a LOT of people are now canvassing stores, browsing websites and asking those “inย  the know” about the best digital cameras available in the market today, within their budget of course.

I know a lot of people would drool over DSLR, thinking these cameras would make them great photographers. Hmmm… ok, I joined a group in Facebook that says: “Hindi Porke’t May DSLR ka ay Photographer Ka Na” which roughly translates to “Not because you have a DLSR means you are a photographer”

LOL, bitter.

Photography is one of the “in” things these days, aside from running a marathon, blogging and playing Plants Versus Zombies ๐Ÿ˜€

Still as they say, it is NOT the camera that makes you a photographer, its the way you take photos that makes you one.

Me? I’m not a photographer and I won’t even pretend that I am. I am a hobbyist ๐Ÿ™‚

Financial Uncertainty

Yesterday when I was watching a CNN Video of John King as he toured 50 states and had interaction with a lot of people, he said something that hit home hard: “Economic anxiety is not a theory, it is a way of life for a whole lot of people.”

Yes, I agree and living in a country where a lot of people are living below poverty line, economic anxiety seems to be something one lives with or one that can’t live without.

Someone I know has been dropping hints to me about life insurance quotes when I know this is the last person I know who will venture into something like this.

If we can’t adapt, then we may never learn how to deal with these anxiety and uncertain future.

Fiber Rich Food

Someone I know recently underwent a colon cleansing treatment from a spa/therapy/treatment health and wellness center. I am not sure if she is taking colon cleansing pills but what I know of was she went through an oral cleansing regimen by ingesting food with lots of dietary fiber.

In our household we try to do some things differently by doing some changes in our food intake to make sure we have fiber rich food to help and digestion and fecal movement. Ewww? No, its not.

We have brown rice which is said to be rich in fiber. We have coffee that has green beans. We steer clear of food rich in animal fat. We have fish and white meat as part of the diet more than we have red meat. Processed food has no place in our meals and we try to avoid these as much as possible. Fruits and vegetables are regularly consumed.

These are just a few of the little steps to be done to ensure that health is given priority without denting the budget. It is doable.
