I Could Have Earned Extra

A friend asked me if I would like to join her team in selling insurance policies. Tempting yes, but I am not sure if I will be able to do what I am supposed to.

When she told me about the seminar I have to attend first about all things regarding insurance business:Β  health insurance leads, the right terms, how to talk to people, I have to say I was having second thoughts because I have homeschooling children, πŸ˜€

Lost opportunity to earn I know. Maybe next time πŸ™‚

Backyard Gardening Projects

Hubby asked me why I haven’t started started the backyard garden since I pulled all the vegetable plants when the rains “ruined’ these. By ruined I mean the bitter gourd yield turned orange, the lemongrass wilted, the basil leaves got eaten by aphids and so on.

The seed packets are waiting. The not-soil pack is waiting for me too and I hope it has not expired (if there is such a thing) yet. The lovely colored pots are dusty already. And I can’t find my work gloves.

Excuses, excuses.

Oh wait, I started planting something yesterday, a pandan plant. I hope it will stay alive since I am not sure if it will thrive. If it lives, then we can have pandan rice everyday and pandan jelly and chicken wrapped in pandan leaves. Woot!

I used coffee grounds in the soil by the way, it is good for the soul soil.

Shoe Talk

We just got both of the two younger children a pair of shoes each two months ago but now these can hardly fit. In fact the youngest daughter was able to wear her pair once and that was it.

Yes, they indeed grow up fast and so we have to watch out for what we buy them especially foot wear so these are not outgrown after a few weeks.

For now, choosing their shoes would be up to our preferences but in due time, they would choose what they like but that’s ok, as long as these are within the budget and these shoes are known to be of better quality that other brands.

Oh, this reminds me that I have to look at some Naot sandals that were recommended by a friend. For me, of course πŸ˜‰

Bitter Gourd

Bitter gourd or ampalaya hanging on our fence. Who would have thought I who has a black thumb would have these at home?

This is just one of the few we have in our little vegetable garden πŸ™‚

Uncooked of course πŸ™‚ Some recipes here.

Choices

We are saddled with so many choices in life.

Ketchup or salt? Running or walking? To sleep or to watch television?

Yes, as if our life depends on these thing, haha!

We do legwork, canvassing stores for the perfect pair of shoes that not only makes the feet look gorgeous but is slightly cheaper too.

What about bargain hunting during sales, even if one misses a day at work or even has not minded being pushed and shoved?

Summer Travel

The children are currentlly vacationing down South where the beaches have fine powdery white sand and the air has a tangy scent πŸ™‚

Yes, I really wish we, my husband and I could be with them to enjoy being together and have fun memories

Sending them off was no easy for we had to know a lot about travel deals and choose the perfect time and ticket price that is affordable and would not burn a hole in the pocket πŸ™‚

Some people I know were able to save on half the ticket prices because they booked their travels almost half a year before the travel time itself, clever ones!

They are enjoying their vacation with their cousins so far s I know that being away from home is worth it
