One Week Break

There is a one week break, if I am not mistaken from April 6 – 12. Yes, the April 9 Day of Valour (Araw ng Kagitingan) has been moved earlier to add another no-work day for that particular weekis in the Holy Week itself.

I hope the soldiers who risked their lives for the freedom in this country are not turning in their graves nor wanting to come out of it and pull the leg of whoever thought of making this kind of disservice to their memory.

Anyway, hubby and I were talking about what we would do. He was thinking of going to the City of Pines but of course, he certainly jests, for I would “bet” that that place would be packed to the brim. Yes, instead of breathing fresh mountain air, we might even feel we didn’t leave this megapolitan place.

So where to? Continue Reading »

Running and Walking

Lately my hubby has started to rekindling his love for running (and walking) and of course, we naturally join him so that we could get our own dose of physical exercise. I can do this since I can’t do biking.

In fact, it was just the other day when the younger kids got new pairs of running shoes for this new found “love”.

Last Sunday night we had a go at it and the kids thoroughly enjoyed the exercise. When they got tired, we rolled out the mat and they had fun lying on it watching the almost full moon shine brightly along with numerous stars in the night sky.

Summer Shopping List

Sleeveles tops.

Short pants.

Flip-flops.

Swimming gear.

Sun block.

These are just some of the items we need to get to be ready for summer, especially if the plans to have the children go to a vacation down south, these would come in handy for them to enjoy summer days without feeling hot and restricted with their movements.

So yes, I admit, I am forever on the lookout for sale events happening in the nearby malls.

Who knows, I might even get me and my hubby some new gears too, now that we have started to get involved with running and walking together  🙂

Mussels with Garlic Butter

Below is one of my eldest daughter’s favorite weekend Sunday lunch fare, mussels with butter that has garlic bits and parsley.

Finely chop fresh garlic and fresh parsley and add to butter to make the butter mixture. I think I used spreadable margarine with this batch and fresh basil bits instead of parsley. Works any way, the taste is still good enough.

You can use a food processor for easier handling of the butter mixture. I used this to make it. This mixture can be refrigerated and used with bread that can be paired with any pasta dish.

Update On My Vegetable Garden

Manang Salve and I planted some new seeds two-three weeks ago and these were basil, parsley and lettuce but the lettuce seem taking a long time to sprout 🙁

I enjoy visiting these little green friends and take note of their growth which I “record” with photos of course.

One thing I hate though would be soil on the soles of my flip-flops and I really want to have some decent garden boots so I surfed the net in search of a perfect pair.

I saw some nice pairs of UGG boots that I fell in love with but I have decided that these are too nice and too pretty to be used in the garden 😉 I’d rather go to work using these than in the garden 😀
