Care for a Cup?

Coffee. It might be true that for some, coffee , not blood, runs in their veins 😉 and yes, even the burps smell like coffee.

coffee

I love coffee. My husband and I share a big cup every morning. It is our daily morning ritual.Nothing as fancy as this though, just plain coffee with cream and sugar will do.

The superbly cool weather is a perfect excuse to have a cup or two while sitting in front of an Amish fireplace. Perfect bed weather solution.

Cheese Dynamite

Cheese dynamite, a chili pepper with cheese inside, coated with crunchy crumbs. As I have said, it IS the bomb.

Cheese Dynamite

I grabbed the photo from my other blog where I featured Cafe 5845 which will serve varied dishes with cheese daily till the end of August. The food being served are from the same people that gave us 5,845 cheese dishes that got a Guinness Record last December 2009.

Cafe 5845 is located at the North Wing of SM Mall of Asia. It has a lovely garden ambiance but has modern kitchen and lcd monitors for your viewing pleasure.

It is a must-visit indeed.

To the curious: hindi maanghang.

Vegetable Salad

Lettuce, onions, cucumber, tomatoes and grapes. Yumm-o.

vegetable salad

I love vegetable salads and this one was unique because it was prepared by a friend and shared by friends too.

My youngest child eats this kind of food because I prepare this at home too. My little boy is not fond of vegetable salad though and seems like he has built-in radar detectors and hides every time I call him to taste the vegetable salads I have prepared 😀

Tomatoes and Eggplant Pasta

Eggplants, garlic, onions and tomatoes cooked in a little olive oil for my spaghetti noodles. A little less sodium oyster sauce to add flavor.

spaghetti

The kids ate this, in fact they even enjoyed it because they had clean plates after a few minutes.

I don’t think I’d be needing a quick weight loss program if I eat like this. But if I reach for that chocolate bar for dessert…

Happy weekend!

Coco Jam and Bread

Coco jam and bread = perfect combination. You can also try peanut butter + coco jam together and you will get two thumbs up experience. This of course will depend on your tolerance to the coco jam.

coco jam

All three featured in the photo came from a bakery that uses the old fashion way of baking bread, through brick oven. As a child I disliked coco jam candy because it smells “ewww”. The taste, I must say, seems like an acquired one and is something that develops over time.

The oil from coconut is said to work fine for pimples but I am not sure if acne vitamins and an intake of coco jam would go hand-in-hand for a clearer skin. Maybe it would, who knows?

Why waste time thinking about it, let’s all use up the coco jam in that little jar on the bread and eat!  😀

Goldilocks Decorate Your Cake

A small mocha cake, some ready made cake decorations and a little patience and creativity and you’ve got Goldilocks Decorate Your Cake. Woohoo!

DYC

This is a wonderful summer activity for the youngsters and the young-at-heart. I totally forgot about this and should have done this with the children during summer vacation.

Warning: not to be done when sitting on outdoor chaise lounges especially when the heat is scorching. You wouldn’t want your Goldilocks Decorate Your Cake to melt under the sun would you?
