This Is It World Premiere

Today marks the international launch of the  two-week showing of “This is It” featuring Michael Jackson.

We haven’t made plans yet to watch but I am excited to say the least.

I am sure a lot of people took advantage of the first day to watch, especially since tickets have been sold in advance several weeks ago.

I wonder if the ticket counter sales clerks are scrambling to use their handy weapons before patrons who will part with their money. The weapon? why a  barcode scanner of course 😀

My son is a self-confessed fan of the late pop icon. Yeah even if he just heard of and saw MJ at the time of his death. Never say too late.

How Do We Stand Up and Get Going After the Typhoons?

With so much devastation around caused by the two super typhoons that came to wreak havoc to this poor nation of ours, it seems that a lot of businesses (and that includes small businesses, franchises and even agricultural products from the northern Philippines) have been affected severely and will be affected in the days to come.

Yes, we still have to come to grips with what has happened after Ondoy (Ketsana) and now Pepeng came and brought more damage than we can probably imagine.

Lives were lost. Homes, entire villages and physical structures were buried in mudslides and landslides.  Severe damage to crops and properties happened. Roads and bridges are destroyed, damaged and not passable as of this time.

I know, deep in my heart that we will surpass these challenges but as a nation with scarce resources, corrupt officials, and dampened spirits, how can we say that we can right now?

How do we stand up and get going after all these has happened?

Nokia X6

I am on the lookout for new cell phones, not that I can afford to buy one right now. I chanced upon the new Nokia X series and I must say the Nokia X6 captured my attention.

The unit may look boxy to others but for me this unit is definitely something I would set my sight at. Full specs can be read here.

Now if only this is affordable, 😀

Road Trip

Road trips are one of the most enjoyable bonding times families (and friends too) can spend together.

As a family we have endless plans to go places but time or resources and perhaps both hinder us from doing so. The perpetual problem of who will mind the house and the dog while we are gone is also a bit of a problem. If it only feels safer where we are. Oh well.

Road trips in an rv is probaby fun because it is bigger and more comfortable.

I hope next weekend we can spend some time going on one. It seems like a long time since we went on a road trip.

Shoe Talk

We just got both of the two younger children a pair of shoes each two months ago but now these can hardly fit. In fact the youngest daughter was able to wear her pair once and that was it.

Yes, they indeed grow up fast and so we have to watch out for what we buy them especially foot wear so these are not outgrown after a few weeks.

For now, choosing their shoes would be up to our preferences but in due time, they would choose what they like but that’s ok, as long as these are within the budget and these shoes are known to be of better quality that other brands.

Oh, this reminds me that I have to look at some Naot sandals that were recommended by a friend. For me, of course 😉
