Sausage Omelet

Ingredients:

3 pieces of sausages (I used those that were bought from Ilocos, given as “pasalubong”)

1 big tomato, diced

1 onion, diced

2 garlic cloves, minced

3 eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon of cooking oil (I use Canola oil)

2 teaspoons of oyster sauce

salt and pepper to taste

a dash of dried basil

Omelet is a perfect food for those on the go. It is easy to do and can be served during any meal. It can be taken with hot rice, fried rice or bread.

I like mine with fried rice andĀ  tomato ketchup.

Yellow Cab Pizza

Yellow Cab Pizza is like a “special” pizza for we just have these when there are special events. We love it of course for the taste is really like no other but its price is not that affordable for us.

The children like pizza with mostly cheese as toppings. Whereas I love green bell pepper, mushroom and onions.

By the way, would you like your Yellow Cab Pizza be delivered in a Ducati motorcycle? Click here.

Greenwich Macaroni Salad

We stay and wait for my husband to come from the office for about 2 hours in SM Megamall every Monday and Wednesday. By we I mean my two younger children and I.

it is dinner time when we go there. We bring milk drinks with us as their drink as they have their dinner. We usually just stay in the mall’s basement food court near the parking area we chose to avail of.

The children usually choose Greenwich for food. We used to order those meals with fried chicken, pizza, macaroni salad and drinks. Lately we have been ordering their rice meals like Chicken a la King or Adobo or we go for another kind of food from a different food store.

Anyway, the Greenwich Macaroni Salad is often LEFT UNEATEN. The kids do not like this and neither do I.

Why they have to put fresh tomato and sliced lettuce bits in the macaroni salad, puzzles me so just because. Somebody clue me on this, please šŸ˜€ This part of the meal goes to waste so we do not buy these anymore.

The children love macaroni salad, they do, but this one is not a favorite.

Healthy Alternatives

We have not been having soft drinks a lot lately. One reason is because my husband has been having upset stomach when he does. I just hope it isn’t the beginning of an ulcer.

Another reason would be our attempt in trying to have more nutritious food and drinks at home. We have even resorted to bringing food and drinks whenever we go out of the house.

It is important to watch what we put in our bodies. Becoming healthy does not mean one has to shell out large amounts to be able to be one. Those “lowly” green and leafy vegetables are wonderful sources of nutrients that we need to be healthy.

Backyard gardening is one answer to having fresh food. Buying reasonably priced nutritional supplements like Orovo is also a good thing.

There are so many choices when it comes to getting good drinks. There is a variety of teas available. We have yellow tea after dinner. The children have fresh lemon grass tea at night too. There are also drinks that provide nutritional supplements. Fresh coconut drink is also one drink that we like.

Even if we live in they city, we can still have these fresh produce as alternative to fast food.

Home-Made Pizza

We love pizza. Who doesn’t?

But with the prices of everything going north, at times, we resort to having these done at home, using whatever food we have. The dough is store bought, for I can buy these ready-made dough in the supermarkets I have already forgotten how to make oneĀ  when I enrolled for baking classes eons ago.

The pizza above was made from the store-bought dough, cheese dog slices, pineapple pieces, spaghetti sauce (I put some dried basil in the sauce and itty-bitty garlic bits) and cheese. Not as good as the pizza that can be had in pizza places but the children enjoyed eating what we prepared and that what matters most.

By the way, my children just love the all-cheese pizza and not the one with all sorts of toppings.

What are your favorite pizza toppings?
