Tomatoes and Eggplant Pasta

Eggplants, garlic, onions and tomatoes cooked in a little olive oil for my spaghetti noodles. A little less sodium oyster sauce to add flavor.

The kids ate this, in fact they even enjoyed it because they had clean plates after a few minutes.

I don’t think I’d be needing a quick weight loss program if I eat like this. But if I reach for that chocolate bar for dessert…

Happy weekend!

Goldilocks Decorate Your Cake

A small mocha cake, some ready made cake decorations and a little patience and creativity and you’ve got Goldilocks Decorate Your Cake. Woohoo!

DYC

This is a wonderful summer activity for the youngsters and the young-at-heart. I totally forgot about this and should have done this with the children during summer vacation.

Warning: not to be done when sitting on outdoor chaise lounges especially when the heat is scorching. You wouldn’t want your Goldilocks Decorate Your Cake to melt under the sun would you?

I am the Cook

I spent some time organizing my photos and saw the re-sized ones I have used in my blogs. I noticed that most food photos I have can be found in this blog and this other blog.

I may have to think about the best diet pill even if I am just looking at these photos ๐Ÿ˜€

I am not a great cook, nor do I pretend to be one. I can cook, yes, but my cooking is “just right” for the family’s consumption. It is when the children say that they like the food I prepared that makes my heart swell.

Oh, they would rather eat home-cooked meals they tell me.

Dinner Invite

We have been invited to dine with hubby’s relatives tonight. It’s his cousin’s belated birthday celebration along with this cousin’s mom’s birthday. Double celebration means food, food and more food.

I know it doesn’t help that I just saw a noxycut page last night and that this household sure knows how to cook super yummy dishes. Guilt trip to the max it will be when we go there tonight.

And yeah, I think we are going back a week from now because they will be having their patron feast celebration ๐Ÿ˜€

Pata Tim

Pata Tim (Braised Pork?) is one yummy food to eat especially when the meat is tender and flavorful.

pata tim

This dish is one of the absolute favorites with my husband’s family. I like it too but I do not attack this with the same intensity that I used too. I can almost hear this pork fat-laden food cry “you need fat burner!” every time I take bites ๐Ÿ˜€

This is actually a treat for us since we don’t usually have pork at home. This is a good excuse to have a glass (or two) of ice cold Coke. ๐Ÿ˜‰
