Skin Care Expert Talk

I came from an intimate bloggers event where the main speaker was a skin care expert. No, she didn’t talk specifically about how to get rid of pimples but about skin and aging of which I am very much so interested, thank you!

I admit, this is something we have to live with when we are older and wiser. The talk about moisturizers, skin care and use of sunscreen was interesting. I met some beauty bloggers too. And no, I don’t fancy myself as one, LOL.

Can’t wait to write my post about this and try the new product myself.

Summer Skin Care

The heat is on. And yes, aside from the usual rashes when it’s hot, I have a minor breakout on the face with two big zits. Ugh. Someone suggested I use acnepril. I have been drinking lots of water these days and steering clear away from soda. Yeah, I know, it IS hard.

Skin care during summer means doing the following:

  • Use water-based moisturizer to help nourish the skin.
  • Use sunscreen.
  • Put on lip balm to avoid drying of the lips
  • Use clothes that will minimize exposure to the sun
  • Avoid being outdoors between 10am and 3pm
  • Avoid clothes that irritate your skin. Instead wear something light.

Misting yourself with a spray bottle is also a good idea. Taking good care of your skin is not only for vanity’s sake but for your protection and health too.

Have a happy summer!

Sick and Not Hungry

Being sick is not good. I just had a sandwich and a mug of coffee a while ago. Last time I ate was  1pm yesterday and I still do not feel hungry (maybe because of the sandwich and mug of coffee). I hope I won’t feel hungry for several days and won’t need diet pills yet.

I can go without the hunger pangs but not when I feel ugh and dreaming of earthquakes in my restless sleep.

I wish the antihistamines work today so I can go back to bed and get some sleep.

Herbal Soaps

We opted to use soaps from the (DOH) Department of Health‘s Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care (PITAHC) that have natural ingredients in it.

With a teenage daughter, we have to be careful what we use for acne remedy because facial skin is sensitive.

herbal soaps

At first, using the soaps on my face gave me a bit of discomfort because my skin felt itchy. I asked my SIL about it because she was the one who gave me the soaps. She said I have to read the ingredients and sure enough, ingredients just listed the fruit or vegetable extract and vegetable oil. None of those 20+ lettered hard-to-pronounce words. So, yey! Must be those extracts doing what they are supposed to do on the skin.

So far I’ve used papaya, cucumber and carrot soaps for skin moisturizing. I forgot to take photos of these.

My daughter is using calamansi soap for whitening (rolls eyes) while we still have bayabas [guava] (skin protection against bacteria), akapulko (skin defense against fungus) and labanos [radish] (skin whitening and astringent).

We are almost out of soap so we need to order more soon.

White Hairs

Been worrying about a lot of things these days so it was not a shock to see white hairs sprouting on my head, argh.  If only I’m losing weight even without adapexin p but that it’s just the opposite of what’s happening to me. Another argh and a sigh.

Stressed = nibbling here and there.

I really gotta get serious with my hooping and start my morning walk soon.
