Fancy Bracelets

This is my bracelet a breloques.

This is my daughter’s DIY ring, made up of a craft gem and rolled paper.

I am planning to do a DIY/crafts program for my students this summer and this include making fancy trinkets and jewelry like bracelets, necklace and earrings. I have been canvassing my “suki” where I buy fancy bracelets for the materials I need: charm for bracelet, wires, elastic bands of fish net thread, trinkets and semi-precious stones.

I just wish I would be able to get these materials at a reasonable price without having to go somewhere a bit far like Quiapo or Divisoria.

Planning Ahead

Creepy as it may seem but I am curious about how many people have insurance coverage on burial services. Preplanning a funeral is not something we should take for granted not because we are excited to meet our Maker but because this will ease the “burden” of costs that will be left with the family.

Should we all do this in anticipation of death?

Are we ready to plan for something we are not anticipating and look forward to experiencing?

Business Cards

I got no business cards as of this moment. In fact I have got no business cards since last year when there was a change in a blog site written on the biz card I have.

Is this important, having business cards with me? Have I lost possible business opportunities/clients because I didn’t have these with me?

I’ve an experience I wouldn’t forget. I went to a movie premiere and when I was about to board the train bound for where I can go home, a certain lady with a little boy asked me if I also watched the movie she obviously watched too.

I said, “yes” I watched the movie that she did.

She handed me her plastic business card and asked if I have one. I said I had none.

She sheepishly (or was it just my perception that her voice changed) asked what my blog name was and I gave it.

Then she asked if I have a Facebook account and if I do, can I like her Facebook page?

Ok, next time, I will have business cards with my name printed on it but I will not give these away like I am giving away free candies. I wouldn’t want to deal with a lot of spam emails and solicitation proposals.

What if I missed a good opportunity for a partnership? If others want my services, even if I don’t have these cards, they’d probably look me up.

Debenhams Sale

Last night, when we had an unexpected trip to the mall, I chanced upon a sale on shoes and bags (and clothes too) at Debenhams TriNoma. I was trying to try shoes that should perfectly fit me but I wasn’t able to get a pair. I wasn’t able to get a bag too.

First because the shoe sizes were a tad too big. Second, the bags, I can’t choose which one I like best among 4 choices. Third, the kids were complaining they want to have dinner already. But I didn’t complain when they were choosing their books at the bookstore, lol.

If not for the three factors, the barcode labels of at least a pair (or maybe even two) and a bag would have been scanned for me.

I’m going back tomorrow. *crossing my fingers* I hope I can still get one of those bags I’m eyeing.

Feels Like Summer Already

It feels like summer already and yes. I am sweltering and craving for a big bowl of halo-halo.

To the beach we will go. I hope.

Forever

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I’m sure couples are eyeing where to spend this special day. Whether they spend it on a day at the beach, hiking mountain trails, checking in at hotels in orlando, or running a marathon together, sometimes it does not really matter as long as they are together and having a blast.

Of course, being that Valentine’s Day is commercially-driven these days it is no surprise that more and more people find it not too special to spend anymore. For those couples with children, this has become a family affair: dinner, out of town trips or special meals cooked at home.

“Everyday should be like Valentine’s Day” say some and in that note, I have to agree.
Enjoy the sort film as much as I did 🙂
