Chocolate and Strawberries

foodfriday

There is something special about chocolate and strawberries (and cherries too)  together that seem perfect.

Chocolate and Strawberries

I am not sure exactly what happened here but the strawberries in this huge bowl of sweet and sinful chocolate mousse  seem to have vanished.

No, the strawberries and cherries didn’t plunge down into that abyss in the big bowl.

I Googled “chocolate + strawberries” and I got close to 4 million results. Wow.

Can You Do the Nestle Fitnesse 14 Day Challenge?

With the launching of Nestle Fitnesse 14 Day Challenge, I know a lot of women, and men too, are thinking about joining the bandwagon.

With proper exercise this mean losing 2 pounds within the specified time. To lose belly fat is probably one motivation to continue the program.

Even if my friends and I were not able to sign up with the challenge, I am taking it upon myself to follow the food servings in the program. And who knows, I might do this beyond the 14 day challenge, that is if I can control myself from getting that one last bite (or serving) of whatever is on our dining table.

Fried Fish with Herbs

Fried fish with herbs: fresh basil and (dried) rosemary. I also put some garlic and these were fried with butter.

Yum! We had this during one of the cool rainy days a few months ago.

Red and Green Bell Peppers

Red and Green Bell Peppers

Red and green are the colors of Christmas. Maybe this is the reason why these bell peppers are priced sky high during the season. I’m stumped really why this is so.

I love green bell peppers, just the smell alone makes me feel wonderful, I don’t know why. That and onions together. Weird huh? Maybe because I love these on my pizza.

On the other hand, it would be nice to have area rugs with these colors to make the house more Christmas-y and festive which reminds me that I still have to change the throw pillows and use the Christmas designs 🙂

Bangus Belly

Filipinos know this food just by its scent alone.

When I was cropping the photo, I asked my son if he knew what this food is. He said the name of a mall near where we live where I had this as well as the name of the dish, and he was right on both counts. Bangus Belly from Reyes Barbecue.

I like this better than other food eaten with rice, even before I had to lay off on meats, especially with the fat attached.

What would you put in the soy sauce? Calamansi juice? Chili?

I prefer this eaten with fresh raw tomatoes 😉

Nakakamay pa.
