Wish List

I have a secret wish list. This wish list is known to my husband and children though.

In it are the things I think I (ok WE) need.

In the list are mostly tangible things that I wish to have because I need them to make life and living easier. The items in the list are possible to have IF ONLY… or AFTER WE SETTLE THIS AND THAT RESPONSIBILITY…

I guess I am a patient person since most of the items in my wish list can be had IF I insist but still I wait for a better opportunity AND I wait until I am sure there is no other responsibility that will be forgotten.

I’m sure the children understand because they are patient too, waiting for us until we are ready to fulfill their wishes too.

I also make sure I don’t get these items in the wish list when I know some are out of reach or even out of sight.

I know we have to work harder in order to see that the things in my wish list are granted.

For how long? Until we can manage to make do without these. Continue Reading »

Looking Forward to Frugal Christmas Year 3

In a few weeks’ time, the -BER months are here. I’m sure there are those who are getting their Christmas thingamajigs ready in time. Decors, multi color led christmas lights, fabrics like curtains, pillow case and table covers, the tree of course and shopping for gifts.

Funny how the malls put Christmas decorations being sold alongside Halloween paraphernalia. Seems like every year, Christmas is becoming more and more about shopping, shopping and more shopping. Commercialism benefits those who are in the business but not those who charge using their plastic.

Gone are the days when simple celebrations are more meaningful and appreciated. Christmas now comes with a price tag and so for this year, we will have a Frugal Christmas Year 3.

Feel-Good Websites

I saw this article from CNN.com re 8 Feel-Good Websites to Brighten Your Day

I rarely read blogs that have negative blog posts like rants and personal experiences and complaints.

I admit, I myself do rants, especially about our lack of proper water delivery services aka Maynilad’s no water service but since that is an ongoing saga, I think I can rant all I want. Yeah, we have water from Maynilad, 2 pailfuls this dawn, after a week of none coming out of the faucet. Heh.

Anyway, it is such a joy to get “lost” in a virtual world where one feels positive and happy. Who wouldn’t want that, even for just a while?

A Day in the Life of…

My husband and I love watching movies but  juggling a busy part-time work schedule and being a full-time mom while my husband works two part-time work (which roughly translates to two full-time work schedules at times), we rarely have time to watch movies these days.

With three kids in tow, movies are a luxury for us. I am pleased that the children would settle with watching DVD movies at home where they can see the film again and again and again. Yeah, repeat again several more times and you get the picture.

When I don’t have to go to my part-time work and I just stay at home, I watch movies online (sometimes I even try to do ab workouts insert rolls eyes here) or blog or read a book or watch TV series being shown half the world away. Yep, I am up to date with some of the TV series I like.

Household chores? Say that again?

When the kids are back from school, then I get very busy from 6pm till my eyes drop from exhaustion.

Countryside View

It gives me joy to be able to go home and visit my parents.

heavy clouds

Aside from the fact that I would be able to spend a few hours with my parents, traveling on country road is a relaxing experience for me, seeing so much greenery without billboards and steel buildings blocking the view.

We would probably do a lot of traveling as a family if only we have the time, resources and a house-sitter who can be trusted to be left behind. For now, we don’t have plenty of all three things.

Tomatoes and Eggplant Pasta

Eggplants, garlic, onions and tomatoes cooked in a little olive oil for my spaghetti noodles. A little less sodium oyster sauce to add flavor.

spaghetti

The kids ate this, in fact they even enjoyed it because they had clean plates after a few minutes.

I don’t think I’d be needing a quick weight loss program if I eat like this. But if I reach for that chocolate bar for dessert…

Happy weekend!
