What to Choose

So many weight loss solution options: high fiber supplement, sensa weight loss, herbal supplements, water therapy, dancexercise, vegetarian diet and whole lot of what-not.

Sometimes it feels like I’ve read more weight loss reviews than literature I needed for my college thesis.

Yes. I want to keep the bulge off or maybe keep the weight in an acceptable number though by just reading about it won’t make me lose what I need to lose, right?it’s not just the weight loss, it’s the health benefits. *rolls eyes*

If there’s one thing that I need to do would be to get up, stretch, and monitor my time in front of this gadget. Is there an auto shot-off program I can use?

Long Queue

Last week as I was on my way to the last of the Zumba classes I’ve enrolled in, I saw a lot of people lining up in front of a mall even before opening time.

I got curious of course especially since there was a TV station van near the long queue.

It turned out that there was a job fair in the mall and the people lined up were there to look for and apply for jobs.

Such is the life of newly graduates, trainees whose contract have not been renewed and even those who are looking for better opportunities of getting better work and the perks that go with the better position.

Years ago, looking for a job was not that difficult. The ballooning population had a lot of graduates and non-graduates with very few jobs to apply to.

I remember attending a month-long course and training after I quit my work of one month in the hope of getting into teaching. A few days after the month-long course was over, I got hired not because I applied but because there were plenty of teachers there for a few vacant positions from different schools looking for teachers.

I don’t know if I’d be able to stand in a long queue for hours to be able to hand in an application form or a curriculum vitae. Maybe I’d be able to, for the sake of finding work and better opportunities to make my life better.

Cut Short

I watched a show from a local tv network this afternoon and found myself melancholic afterwards. The show featured two young people, a six-year old girl and champion motorcycle racer who was in his early twenties.

The little girl was violated and later on killed. Not that she was wearing  slutty costumes that made the suspect see something else other than an innocent little girl but she was enticed to go to a nearby carnival (peryahan) because it was their little village’s fiesta.

The young man, on the other hand, a champion motorcycle racer who is making a name for himself in international circuits had his life cut short because of an accident due to negligence on the race track and rescue people.

Both lives cut short. Both situations different from one another but nonetheless painful to accept and difficult to understand. As a mom, I don’t know if I would be able to bring myself to deal with these kinds of situation.

Siniguelas

Got half a kilo of siniguelas when we bought several bags of Vienna Bakery Hopia last Sunday. There’s a bag of those hopia beside the water in the photo.

Siniguelas

I wished I bought more siniguelas though. Those in the photo are not everything in the batch of the half-kilo I got. Hubby said that half a kilo we bought seemed few. In other words, madaya ang kilohan.

Naku, alam nyo naman sa Quiapo, kahit nasa harap ng simbahan eh… yun na yun.

Paranoid?

Paranoid. Yes we are like that about home security.

We lock all doors at all times even if we are all at home. We lock the gates from inside when we are home. We look out when the dog is barking.

In fact we have been talking about getting home security systems since one of hubby’s clients is installing cctv in different public places. If it’s possible to get these services that has monitoring services and smoke detectors too at an affordable budget, we’d be investing in it.

Why would we not be paranoid about securing the home when we see people around who don’t look like they can be trusted. In fact some of these people used to hang out and drink (hard liquor) under the trees beside our home and thank God they haven’t been doing that for a while now.

There are gangs in the neighborhood, people who live a block away, beside the river where they’re not supposed to live. Why, just last month, the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) did a raid on the house across ours because the ones renting apparently are doing some kind of counterfeiting of bottled drinks. Sigh…

I know it sounds like I’m a judgmental person when it comes to these matters, I’d like to think I’m just concerned with the security of my love ones.

Skin Care Expert Talk

I came from an intimate bloggers event where the main speaker was a skin care expert. No, she didn’t talk specifically about how to get rid of pimples but about skin and aging of which I am very much so interested, thank you!

I admit, this is something we have to live with when we are older and wiser. The talk about moisturizers, skin care and use of sunscreen was interesting. I met some beauty bloggers too. And no, I don’t fancy myself as one, LOL.

Can’t wait to write my post about this and try the new product myself.
