Hello There Blog

Why hello there blog, we meet again. I’ve been extremely busy these days with so many offline stuff work.

I promise I will be more attentive to you and your need to have new posts that aim to cheer up the few who stumble here, teehee.

We’ve been quite busy here, tests left and right. There’s also a bit of repair done on the roof, under the sinks and in the backyard which brought me a bit of despair because two pairs of slippers and a ginsu knife were lost. Don’t need to go figure who got these, hmph.

Just as I thought tests are done. here comes two more students having their fourth quarter tests till next week. Gaaah!

Help for Japan

I remember vividly what happened during the big quake back in the 90s. At the dorm where I was staying, we had to stay on the ground floor so each of us brought down our mattress and bedding. We prayed like never prayed before and didn’t sleep until we were extremely exhausted. We were ready to get out of the building, just in case.

I was so worried about my family who I just saw a few days before the big quake. We had to wait till the phone lines were restored before we were able to call our parents because mobile phones were still non-existent during this time and so do Social Media and the internet.

Re Japan earthquake yesterday, a lot of agencies have started mobilizing their resources on how to help Japan. A few minutes after the quake struck, people all over the world bore witness to the devastation. And a few minutes after the tragedy, people started to find ways on how they could help through online connections.

Wow, technology sure does work wonders in times like this. I just hope some scrupulous people won’t take advantage of this situation and create scams where they will benefit.

It happens, sad though it may be.

Pixie Bangus

Pixie’s Bangus is one dish we get if we are running a bit late in going home from somewhere and there’s no time to cook. That or we always have it during family dinners with the in-laws.

Pixie Bangus

The smell of Pixie’s Bangus is good enough to whet the appetite. The kids love it too.

Lately though it seems that I might need a table lamp to see the veggies inside the fish OR see the fish underneath a pile of tomatoes. Nah, I’m kidding but I have to admit,  something’s different with this food: less of these tomatoes and onions now compared to 3 years ago and the bangus are smaller and the prices are a bit higher.

Summer Visit

I can’t wait to go to hubby’s family home down South to visit my MIL, hubby’s grandma and aunt.

When the kids had their month-long summer vacation there, they loved spending time in the garden and rooftop room where the air is cool.

Their house is a bit new, with wooden cabin furniture and white walls. The windows are always open to let the cool breeze in the house, something we don’t do here where we live. Here’s why.

Say it with Flowers

Say it with flowers!

Prom nights, graduation rites and graduation balls are great times to order flowers. Roses are one of the more popular choices for these exciting events. I’ve been scouring the web for some online flower shop links and landed on several pages and spent time to View ProFlowers LinkedIn profile among other sites.

We just finished looking at prom photos and I can’t help but be sentimental about our prom more than half a lifetime ago. Next year will be my elder daughter’s turn to have her prom. Yikes!
