Cyber Monday?

I know about Black Friday sale but Cyber Monday?

Hmmm… this is exactly the kind of sale that I am looking for. Not kidding since I wrote about needing to get a handy netbook for me.

Here in the Philippines, though mall sales happen almost every month or even more often than that (what with malls mushrooming all over the metro and the countryside, there’s bound to be a sale every weekend), big discounts on tech gadgets are not as big as Black Friday’s or even Cyber Mondays.

And during major mall sales, I probably don’t want to risk going through throngs of people and survive unscathed unless I go fully prepared 😀

I Need to Wake Up Earlier

I really want to continue with my on-again-off-again love interest with running. I even take womens multi vitamins to boost my energy level.

Everything should be cool right? If only I wake up an hour (and a half) earlier to be able to do just that: run without seeing people on the streets where I live. But how can I wake up earlier, I stay up late to watch something for writing assignments? Excuses!

When I mean people, I mean people, since we live a block away from informal settlers littering on the streets day in and day out.

They heckle, cuss, walk without shirts on even if they big bulging tummies and wear jejemon caps. Gah! It is understandable one would desire to go out without them in sight. I don’t mean to discriminate but…

What NOT to do in Facebook

For all the Facebook lovers who are making this social networking site their prime communication tool with family and friends, take heed:  there are seven things NOT to do in Facebook.

  1. Do not use a weak password (like your dog’s name, or your birth date, or even your middle name)
  2. Do not leave you full birth date on your profile (same goes with your school, home address, office address, mobile phone, home phone).
  3. Do not read about and learn and USE the privacy settings and risk yourself getting exposed (duh)
  4. Do not allow your children’s name to be tagged even by friends, if they do not have an account. If you have a child(ren), remove their tagged names, especially if they do not have an account there.
  5. Do not make your weekend getaway a secret (or for this matter do not put out a “for everyone” status update about a party in your home)
  6. Do NOT let search engines find you (unless you want to be found, duh?) and yes, there is such a setting that will allow you to not get found (go figure it out in the privacy setting)
  7. Do not allow children to login unsupervised. Instead, supervise young children who have Facebook accounts and love to play third party apps/games (better yet, they will only get logged in if you are there to provide the password) when they are logged in.

Warm Buttered Bread

My youngest daughter loves warm buttered bread. I would like to say I do too even if I know I should be eating foods that burn fat or food that do not store unwanted and unwelcome fat 😀

buttered bread

Don’t we just love warm buttered bread with a serving of creamy soup? Or perhaps with a serving of pasta with your favorite sauce? Or maybe with your favorite beverage whatever it might be?

One of my favorites when I was young: Prima buttered toast. Do you still remember this? Meron pa ba nito? 😀

Civic Duties

Hubby and I participated in the democratic process and made use of our civic duties by voting for the president, vice president, senators and local officials.

I know a lot of people were disappointed with the way the elections were handled but we patiently waited for our turn to vote. And vote we did, even if our president did not win (no regrets here) and our veep is hanging by a thin thread.

Do you participate during elections?
